California's 42nd congressional district covers parts of Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino counties in Southern California. The current Representative for this district is Republican Gary Miller.

George W. Bush received 62% of the vote in this district in 2004; John Kerry received 37%.[1] The district voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger 71-25% in 2006,[2] Dick Mountjoy 53-43% in 2006,[3] Bill Jones 54-42% in 2004,[4] recalling Gray Davis 76-24%[5] and Schwarzenegger 66-15%[6] in 2003, and Bill Simon 61-32% in 2002.[7]
