Taipana (Slovenian Tipana) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 80 km northwest of Trieste and about 20 km northeast of Udine, on the border with Slovenia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 737 and an area of 65.6 km².[1] According to the census 1971 74,4% of the population are Slovenians.
Taipana borders the following municipalities: Attimis, Kobarid (Slovenia), Faedis, Lusevera, Nimis.
