Prato Carnico is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 120 km northwest of Trieste and about 60 km northwest of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,038 and an area of 81.3 km².[1]
Prato Carnico borders the following municipalities: Comeglians, Forni Avoltri, Ovaro, Rigolato, Sappada, Sauris, Vigo di Cadore.
