Pulfero (Slovene: Podbonesec) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 60 km northwest of Trieste and about 20 km northeast of Udine, on the border with Slovenia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,174 and an area of 48.1 km².[1] According to the census 1971 76,5% of the population are Slovenians.
Pulfero borders the following municipalities: Kobarid (Slovenia), Faedis, San Pietro al Natisone, Savogna di Cividale, Torreano.
