Prepotto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 50 km northwest of Trieste and about 20 km east of Udine, on the border with Slovenia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 894 and an area of 33.2 km².[1]
Prepotto borders the following municipalities: Brda (Slovenia), Kanal ob Soči (Slovenia), Cividale del Friuli, Corno di Rosazzo, Dolegna del Collio, San Leonardo, San Pietro al Natisone, Stregna.
