Welsberg-Taisten (German; Italian: Monguelfo-Tesido; Archaic (1375 AD): Waeltsperch or Welischperg) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol

The comune lies about 110 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 60 km northeast of the city of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,570 and an area of 46.6 km².[1]
Welsberg-Taisten (Monguelfo-Tesido) borders the following municipalities: Prags (Braies), Rasen-Antholz (Rasun-Anterselva), Olang (Valdaora), Gsies (Valle di Casies), and Niederdorf (Villabassa).

The municipality of Welsberg-Taisten (Monguelfo-Tesido) contains the frazioni (parishes) Novale, Prati, Riva di Sotto, and Taisten (Italian: Tesido). Taisten lies 1212 m above sea level located in the Puster Valley, east of Bruneck.
