Sterzing (Italian: Vipiteno, archaic Sterzen; Archaic (1180 AD) Sterzengum; Archaic (827 AD): Uuipitina; , Latin: Vipitenum) is an Italian comune in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. It is the main village of the southern Wipptal, and the Isarco River flows through the medieval town.
According to the 2001 census, 75% of the population speaks German as first language, 24.7% Italian and 0.3% Ladin.

Torre delle Dodici (Zwölferturm), a 46 m-high tower erected in 1470. Outside the city is the Reifenstein Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castle in the province.
