WIXV (95.5 FM), known as "I-95 - The Rock of Savannah", is a rock music station targeted to Savannah, Georgia. It is owned by Cumulus Broadcasting.

[edit] Programming

The format is about 70% general classic rock with about 30% newer artists such as REM, Pearl Jam, and the Black Crowes. The current rock format has been on the air since 1986, when they took the format from 97.3 (known as 97 Rock). Before this, 95.5 was WSGF, with a format that could be considered as hot adult contemporary today. Since Cumulus took ownership in 1997, I-95 shifted from what could be considered as active rock to a more album oriented rock sound.

In the latest Arbitron ratings (Fall 2007), WIXV beat Alternative WFXH-FM (Rock 106.1). [1]

The station takes its branding from Interstate 95, which runs through the Savannah area, only skirting city proper on the west.
