[edit] Coffey and the Jammer History

  • Back in the 1990s, "Coffey and the Jammer" (and a later version, "Coffey in the Morning") was the morning show. When the show was replaced by the nationally syndicated "Bob and Tom Show", there was negative feedback from longtime listeners who wanted their local show back. When the show returned to the airwaves in 2004, Cumulus Media gave it a 60 day test run. The show failed to garner enough interest during that run and was not renewed. "Coffey and the Jammer" returned to WTPA in January 2007, but Jammer died March 2, 2007 of an apparent heart attack.
