Castellamonte is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 35 km north of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 9,298 and an area of 38.5 km².[1]
The municipality of Castellamonte contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Sant'Antonio, San Giovanni, Spineto, and Maglio.
Castellamonte borders the following municipalities: Trausella, Meugliano, Rueglio, Cintano, Issiglio, Colleretto Castelnuovo, Lugnacco, Borgiallo, Castelnuovo Nigra, Vidracco, Parella, Quagliuzzo, Cuorgnè, Baldissero Canavese, San Martino Canavese, Torre Canavese, Bairo, Valperga, Salassa, Ozegna, and Rivarolo Canavese.
