Dimethylallyltranstransferase is an enzyme which converts dimethylallylpyrophosphate and isopentenyl pyrophosphate into farnesylpyrophosphate. It is also commonly referred to as farnesylpyrophosphate synthase or farnesyldiphosphate synthase.
Pyrophosphate is also involved, both as a reactant and product. Geranylpyrophosphate is created in an intermediate step.
