[edit] References
Hi! about your message:
Thanks for spotting that. If we haven't provided citations for those statements at all, then they should be removed per WP:V policy. If you're sure the information came from that site, you can credit them with Template:Cite web (depending on the reliablity of the site; fan sites don't normally qualify.)
I tried to place the web URL, but the spam detecting system won't allow to cite the reference. http: //www31-dot-websamba-dot-com/silent_hill_dawn/Silent_Hill_Easter_Eggs.htm
I double checked the fansite and I'm pretty sure the data came from there.

[edit] GTA DJs
I notice that you started an afd on Fernando Martinez. I quite agree, but wonder if the other GTA DJ articles should be added to the same afd - notability or lack of it would seem to be the for all of them. --BrucePodger (Lets have a beer) 09:21, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Wha? There's more of them?! Yes, if they all fail WP:N then batch nominate (possibly proposing a transwiki). Marasmusine (talk) 09:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes theres more, but not quite as many as I expected. I'd already proded one of them, so when I saw this one had an afd assumed there'd be lots. Some have already attracted attention, but been handled in an inconsistent way, I've added my finding to the afd. --BrucePodger (Lets have a beer) 14:19, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reign of Chaos Band
You've not completed the AfD nomination. --Dweller (talk) 13:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Dweller, I don't suppose you could restore this article, as I was in the middle of taking it to AfD (the article at least indicate's some importance, but I want to query the references provided through AfD; also I don't think Speedy G2 was the right criteria to delete it under.) Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 13:06, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm confused. I've not speedied the article, and I don't think anyone else has, either. I've speedied two vandalisms of the prospective AfD page - I don't think I should recreate them. You can create a good version for yourself! --Dweller (talk) 13:08, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- It appears the G2 speedy was for the AfD discussion page I was in the middle of writing. Edit: yes, sorry, you deleted an earlier one. I'll sort it out. Marasmusine (talk) 13:10, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Academyreddawn.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Academyreddawn.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

[edit] List of philatelists
Your recent edit to the list of philatelists is a bit drastic without discussion of any kind. Yes, there may be some name that will never make a n article but we are slowly trying to add articles for the more notable of these people who have redlinks. ww2censor (talk) 14:54, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I suggest adding names to the list as you find WP:V citations (or WP:N-fulfilling articles) for them. Some of the redlinks appeared to be for deleted articles, others may well have been vanity entries. I'd also suggest some kind of annotation or alternative ordering for list entries, or you're just duplicating Category:Philatelists Marasmusine (talk) 15:10, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mahjong video game
Aki is the only notable mahjong solitaire game I've been able to find on wikipedia. I'm putting it back on the list. If the list becomes long enough and has a lot of mahjong solitaire games, I'd welcome someone else to split the two topics out. But in the meantime, there's no sense on having a single game on its own list. I actually have no knowledge or interest in the topic. I'm just doing some cleanup based on a discussion at the video games wikiproject. Randomran (talk) 17:39, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of free disk cloning soft
Please stop cutting the List of free disk cloning soft:
- First. It's still a stub. (External links may become links to articles later.)
- Second. All of these (external) links are present in the Disk cloning article. I don't see the reason, that they can be present there but not here. If reason really exists -- just say, and I'll continue categorization/comparison right inside the Disk cloning (not in separate article) -- but don't do that silent cutting.
- Third. Why don't to write to the discussion page first? I've already lost a piece of text because of that. Cutting the text that someone is working on don't make wikipedia better.

[edit] Accolade
Someone has made a mess of Accolade. For some reason, it is stressing me out. Accolade was moved to Accolade (game), and a new article was named Accolade (knighthood), and Accolade now redirects to Accolade (disambiguation), with the company's talk page still intact. The worst part is that there is no reason for disambiguation pages that only link to TWO articles. You just need dablinks... Do you have any opinions? I fear my irritation may cause me to be less than tactful. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 05:05, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- In my opinion, "Accolade" should be for the ceremony, since that's what it is, with a {for} link to the game, and no dab page. So that's what I'll go do! Marasmusine (talk) 08:19, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Gardenvisit.com
Hi Marasmusine
I created a page for Gardenvisit.com earlier today and I believe you have deleted it. Please will you give a further explanation of why you have done this. The comment says that the entry did not explain why the page was important. I don't remember exactly what I wrote but I remember explaining that it is a very large website (I believe it has more words than the Bible) and that it has online copies of 20 eBooks. I use the Gardenvisit website a great deal and see it as a kind of specialised http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Gutenberg . Wikipedia, which I also use a great deal, cannot include all this information itself so surely it is important for Wikipedia to link to other sources of information? Also, there seem to be a lot of pages on Wikipedia which give information about other websites - and I find them very useful. [I am not the owner, or an employee of Gardenvisit.com, but I have been contributing UGC reviews of gardens etc.]
Best wishes
Hurker (talk) 15:03, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I've moved your text to User:Hurker/Gardenvisit.com if you wish to work on it some more. Being a large website isn't important. What are we looking for in terms of importance? It's not this encyclopedia's function to list every webpage there is; just the notable ones. The website needs to have receieved substantial coverage from independent, reliable sources. Wikipedia:Notability (web) discusses this further. Marasmusine (talk) 15:10, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Placespotting
Hi, You reduced the placespotting article to a stub. I quite agree on your comments, but it would be cool to get some hints how I or (even better) other users could improve the article. [edit] Little Fighter 2
Would this article meet WP: Notability? JoshuaKuo (talk) 19:42, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not on the basis of a single, small, review, no; WP:N says that multiple substantial sources are preferred. I would suggest merging Little Fighter and Little Fighter 2 to a paragraph in Little Fighter Online. Marasmusine (talk) 09:15, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Caius Squires entry deletion
Can you tell me why the Caius Squires article has been completely removed? It appears you nominated it for "speedy deletion"? Rer32 (talk) 16:12, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sure let me have a look. Right, it was deleted by myself, and later by another administrator, under speedy deletion criteria A7; that is to say, it was an article about a group that did not indicate why the subject might be important. Perhaps if you wrote something about how the society might be notable outside the college itself, it might fair better; see WP:Notability. Let me know if you would like the deleted text restoring to your userspace. Marasmusine (talk) 16:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- That would be great, I will have a look at it and try and justify it. The Caius Squires are well established and one of the preeminent societies in Cambridge, The 900 invitee strong garden part at the end of the year is testament to that, a number that eclipses the 400 or so population of the college. I have also dug up some references from the web. Thanks. 87.224.37.138 (talk) 09:23, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, you can find it at User:Rer32/Caius Squires. My best advice to you is to read Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Cheers, Marasmusine (talk) 09:27, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Weewar
Why you added unreferenced tag in gameplay section? Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 13:33, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Because, um, it was unreferenced? Please read the Wikipedia policies on WP:Verifiability and WP:Original research. Marasmusine (talk) 13:34, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- But gameplay section is similar to plot summary in films. How is it possible to provide third party sources for gameplay section? Reference will be needed for criticism, production, background, reception etc. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 13:36, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Cite what third-party sources have said about the gameplay. For example, the TechCrunch review has a paragraph that begins "This is a turn based game." and goes on from there; use Template:Cite journal. If you really must use the primary source, use Template:Cite video game being very careful not to stray into WP:OR territory. Marasmusine (talk) 13:43, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] X (1963 film)
By the by, I was the one who added the talk page citations, as you can see by the history. *wry grin* The closest I have for an excuse for such passive-aggressive misconduct is that the person who kept adding in the "alternate ending broadcast in Britain" line won't discuss the issue at all except to say that they've seen it. I reacted in ire and then more or less forgot I'd made that edit. -Fuzzy (talk) 12:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Inklink
Inklink had been nominated for deletion previously, and the decision was made to keep it. When/how did it become eligible for speedy deletion? Poobslag (talk) 13:36, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- By falling quite thoroughly under speedy deletion criteria A7 (which was established well after that AfD took place, as far as I can tell.) Let me know if you think you can improve the article (by indicating importance), and I'll restore it. Marasmusine (talk) 14:12, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm fine with it being deleted, I was just surprised it was a speedy delete, but I guess it makes sense if A7 is relatively new criteria. Are you going to delete Yahoo! Graffiti and iSketch too? If not I'll clean up their links, since they both link to InkLink. Poobslag (talk) 21:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yahoo! Graffiti is A7 material, but I suggest a partial merger with Yahoo! Games, so will leave it for now. iSketch isn't in danger of speedy, as it indicates some importance in it's "Further reading" section (which ought to be better implemented, but that's a different matter.) Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 22:40, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sourcing Buckethead's gear
Do I really need to source that part? I figured that there is no need to source it since www.bingeandgrab.com has already been put in the References list the time I wrote it. [edit] Ikariam
I see that you're the latest administrator (who's currently active) to delete the Ikariam page for A7 (not important/significant). I think it is rather important--it's one of the most successful browser-based games out there. I was wondering if it was simply the writing style/content that led to the deletion of the page, or the topic itself. I believe I could write an article about it that could show it's notability--I was just wondering if Ikariam itself was the problem. (You can view deleted pages, right?)
Primate#101 22:18, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- It was deleted again on the 9th of May, but the version I deleted read:
ikariam is a massively online game set in the carribean. You will choose from 5 different worlds. You will control a village and construct new buildings or upgrade existing ones.Once you've constructed buildings, you will need workers to gather resources to construct buildings or upgrade ones.Without resources, you won't be able to construct or recruit soldiers to defend your village. You also have to balance your gold.Without gold, you won't have workers.
It's not the writing style itself (although it's pretty bad in this case); there's simply no indication of importance; so speedy A7 it goes.
There's no prejudice against the topic itself, so I would be pleased if you could kickstart an article that satisfies the WP:Notability (websites) guidelines. Since the page appears to be protected, you may like to write it at User:Primate/Ikariam, then give me a shout when you think it's ready. Thanks very much, Marasmusine (talk) 23:08, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Utopia Game References
I admit I undid your removal of the content on the page for Utopia (online game). We had put in a few references since the original tags were put in, and if more are needed, we would have appreciated a mention of it on the discussion page. I'm going to start working on that a bit (citing/referencing the information) so give it a chance. --Caejis (talk) 14:02, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Buckethead's Gear
Not wise to remove that section from his page. I've seen plenty of videos of him performing with the gear listed, as well as several things that I saw with my own eyes two days ago, such as his Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier, his 1959 Gibson Les Paul, and his Mold Spore Wah among other things. The list pretty accurate to what I saw, among what others have seen and recorded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.230.229.63 (talk) 18:00, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please read our policy on original research. All material must be attributed to a published, reliable source. "I saw it" is not acceptable. Marasmusine (talk) 08:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's a load of garbage. That makes it impossible for gear information to be posted on Wikipedia for pretty much any artist who isn't a mainstream artist. You won't find a gear summary in an accredited article for the gear of someone whom isn't a mainstream artist; there simply aren't enough people who care about the gear of someone like Buckethead for an accredited source to spend their time writing about it. It seems awful stupid to me to prevent this knowledge from being accessible to people just because, basically, he isn't popular enough to get an article published on his gear. That gear information is helpful to fans of his--such as myself--who like to know what gear he's playing through to achieve his sound(s). Refusing to post it here isn't helping anyone, and continuing to refuse to post it seems senseless, as many people can vouch for the truth of that list (or at least a good share of it). Just because we're not professional columnists, doesn't make the information any less true. 76.230.229.63 (talk) 01:57, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- The threshold for inclusion in this encyclopedia is verifiability, not truth. Please read WP:Verifiability and WP:Original research again. We only print what has already been printed in independent reliable sources. Marasmusine (talk) 09:28, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
