Libya, represented by Libya Jamahiriya Broadcasting, has been a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 1974.[1] In 2005 they declared an intention of having closer ties with the EBU.[1]
As a member of the EBU Libya is eligible to enter the Eurovision Song Contest.[2] However, Libya Jamahiriya Broadcasting has stated that they have no intention of joining at the present time, because it does not fit into their typical programming.[3]
