[edit] Re: Carter-Campbell of Possil

Thank you for your keen interest in this topic. It is currently being developed by a company group and your tag for speedy deletion has caused much inconvenience. Before you do this in future we request that you ask on our talk page. Also your changes to the Craigenputtock page have been undone as they do not make the article as comprehendible. Thank you for your time. The Craigenputtock group. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Craigenputtock (talkcontribs) 22:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Scottish Castles

Hi Jonathan, I'm glad you like my 'work' on Tolquhon Castle. I visited Scotland in June/July this year and took many photographs of castles, which you can find here: Andrew's Historic Scottish Adventure and I am quite amenable to uploading more. I'm a very poor historian, so I am not the person to update the facts, however :-) Did you see my photo of Corgarff Castle? That's the best fluke I managed, but a worthy one, perhaps! Karora 09:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

I have shots of Craigmillar, but none of the others. One that isn't mentioned that I do have a short of is Castle Stuart - good if someone wanted to start an article on it. Karora 10:30, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 21 October 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Craigiehall, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] Shamrock Hotel assessment

Greetings, I just wanted to inquire whether you'd passed this article or not. The hold tag remains on the article's talk page, but your latest comment seems to imply that it has passed. Could you please update the article and WP:GAN page accordingly? Thanks. Ɛƚƈơƅƅơƚɑ talk 22:11, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Scots law legal phrases

Hello Jonathan, thanks for adding to the pages. I put some of these up yesterday, and am now filling them out (I see that you're doing the same thing at the same time). I'm adding headings to all, getting them to a good, usable form (have a look at "freehold", it's in better shape, I think).

One detail ... for "inter regalia", I'm moving your British monarch addition to the "See also" ... while this is a good link for post-1707, I have in mind earlier, Scots usage, as it played a role in pre-1707 events (eg, a 1592 act relating to mines and minerals, which are inter regalia under Scots law) ... so for the time being, I hope to keep the Scots law definition distinct from the British definition. Best Regards, Notuncurious (talk) 16:19, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello Jonathan, actually I tried to obviate the mixing of Scots/British by adding the inconvenient "(Scots law)" to the article title; same with "Freehold (Scots law)"; my ultimate objective is that when articles reference these terms, the first thing the reader sees is the definition in terms of the referencing article (so they can go back to reading the article without wading through explanations; but if they're interested, the explanations are also there). The "See also" addition is a good enhancement for all such articles. (BTW, my expertise isn't in the law; I just needed a good definition of a few legal terms, so I looked them up, and then I wanted a usable, not-unsightly format for the definitions). Regards, Notuncurious (talk) 16:55, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] William Schaw at Uraniborg

I saw your reference to Uraniborg in the Edzell Castle page (which I concur is now very good. I was wondering whether Glendenning et al mention whether William Schaw went there as well?Harrypotter (talk) 15:48, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I'm back

Hi again, I recall the name Supergolden from the start of this project. I just got too busy to keep up the work here. Hopefully I will try to keep up little bits and pieces of work. Currently, my lunch hour is a good opportunity. It's good to see the progress made since I've been away. Not living in Scotland at the moment makes it a bit tricky to do any visits, however I can still do internet research. Slink pink (talk) 11:18, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edzell Castle

Hi! I've reviewed Edzell Castle, and placed it on hold as there are a few minor fixes which need doing. I've left a few comments on the talk page. Feel free to bring up any concerns you have (you might not agree with everything I've said!). Gwinva (talk) 23:21, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I have a quick look at Gwinva's comments. I've got limited access to teh web for technical reasons just now, but I will attend to some improvements when i get the chance.Harrypotter (talk) 13:56, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

The reason that I cited the song is for the plot, which is easily discerned form listening to the song. I will work on the citations for other information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The man in the mask (talkcontribs) 00:38, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edzell Castle GA

I've listed Edzell Castle as GA. Well done! I've enjoyed reviewing it. If you ever want me to look over anything else for a second opinion, then drop me a line. All the best. Gwinva (talk) 09:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

G'day, JO. Very fine job you did there—well done indeed. Rgds, Bill Reid | Talk 09:55, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images on Wikimedia Commons

Hi Jonathan, I did register with Commons but could not work out how to upload the pictures. I'm beginning to feel more confident uploading to Wikipedia. Having read the stuff on moving Wikipedia pics to Commons, I'm still none the wiser! Renata (talk) 07:15, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
