From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
<BEGIN>RE: WCYC. I have already referenced Andrew Yoder's book, wherein WCYC is mentioned, and this is a "proper" reference and a "reliable source." Scans of documents are acceptable, as not everything is on the WWW. I just cannot upload them until a number of days have passed. I will continue, however, to search out materials, add a bibliography of six books wherein WCYC is mentioned, add photos, and more detailed history of the station
Baby Pirates, as I've pointed out, are an interesting phenomenon in the history of underground and clandestine radio broadcasting. WCYC is not related to any commercial nor on-going illegal activity. The station, according to record, was shut down by the FCC in the mid 1990s. There can be no argument made for personal gain, self promotion, etc. This is pure history.
I believe Wikipedia is a great forum and place for the encyclopedic documentation of many of the more important underground radio movements that have shaped the cultural makeup of the United States. For example, when we look at the Wikipedia article, "pirate radio," it is immediately obvious that there is disparate and incongruent factual evidence and documentation of its history. Supplementing Wikipedia's database with names of historic pirate radio stations, and underlining the reasons for their importance, will enhance our knowledge as to why it came about, what shaped it, and what it shaped. Moreover, pirate radio history is tightly linked to the history of free speech, and in many ways foreshadowed the arrival of the terrain that is now known as the WWW--pirate radio history is a part of the history of free speech and censorship. I believe this is a worthy entry, and if there is still disagreement, I hope I'll have an full and detailed explanation as to why. Thank you. <END>
I have magazine articles from major Aviation magazines I can cite later, I will make a much better case for notability. Thanks again for your help. Is there a way for me to just see my new messages and not have to scroll through the old?Acxiz (talk) 04:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me learn about Wikipedia, I'm only trying to help make it better as you can see by my contributions. I thought the messages on my talk page were just for me to see. I think that it is unfortunate that you consider flight schools as unnotable. None of the current major schools in the US are on your List of Flight Schools page. Within the pilot community this is very notable. I would like to help fix this if possible. Acxiz (talk) 17:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Why was my article for US Flight Academy deleted? I started at the list of flight schools and wanted to add one that is not on the list. I follow some of the same order and format as the as Kansas State University - Salina because it is very similar in size and has been around as long. Also, the rules say that notibility does not apply to schools. The article was changed several times to be only factual in nature but then still deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Acxiz (talk • contribs) 14:55, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello Realkyhick, Would you take another gander at the recent citations to Mother Supreme Council of the World? I was in the middle of adding them when your Unsourced and verify tags were added. Thanks. FearAndLoathing08 (talk) 03:53, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

"However, a differentiation should be made between spam articles and legitimate articles about commercial entities." And what does it change in the neutral way of speaking? Why does admitting being involved changing the whole context or value of a page? If it was no problem before, why now? Sorry for being honest in that point, but you really think 10 page long articles about games with inview just appear by regular fans? And I may ask, do you admins communicate with each other? I got granted the chance to expand this page as soon as I have written the German version of it, thanks for clearing up things in forehead before deleting articles with a complete naive attitude. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maulwurfel (talk • contribs) 00:28, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

- I see that it is really hard to get into WP by just having a limited amount of time, as said one admin was suggesting to me to write the article in German first than transfer into English since my time is very limited, for that he removed all tags from the entry. I came a long and wanted to expand it with an description of the series and all of their names, since it changed very often..., well there wasn't much to expand anymore and this is very annoying if you tried several times to do what admins or bots suggested and don't even get a change in a normal time to fix the problems, mostly the article is removed or deleted a couple of minutes after editing. When the article was first created, I added a speedy to it, because it made no sense; however, the user is Hungarian (and seems knowledgable enough on the Hungarian wiki). I removed my speedy and replaced it with a couple of tags in order to give that user, and possibly other users that may have knowledge about the subject, an opportunity to improve it. Now I see that you have added another speedy to it; I removed that one, both due to the nature of the article (which really isn't that short, just needs arranging and lots of clearing up) and out of respect for the user. I suggest that if you still think it should be deleted, it should be prod'ed, as opposed to speedied. Thank you :) — NovaDog — (contribs) 00:40, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello. You tagged this article for speedy deletion under A1 — no context. There was clearly enough context to identify the subject of the article; there was even a link to the band she was in. Please be more careful when tagging, especially with A1. Thank you. seresin | wasn't he just...? 05:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- The A1 criterion states: Very short articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. There was clearly enough context. The subject was a member of a band that even had an article. A7 might have applied, but there was enough context to identify the subject of the article, which is what A1 states. seresin | wasn't he just...? 14:36, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:JitneyJungle.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:JitneyJungle.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. WebHamster 17:23, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Makeoutclub
Hello,
Could you please explain your comment regarding the Makeoutclub wiki serving as a promotional vehicle? The Wiki entry for "MOC" was created within the Wikipedia guidelines in September of 2007 and removed from speedy deletion contention by Wiki admins. Each claim and remark within the article was provided a citation.
There are entries for several different "social networking" sites on Wikipedia (Myspace / Friendster / Facebook) and Makeoutclub predated each of those three (and a large majority of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites these).
There is no hidden agenda here other than to allow Makeoutclub to be alongside the others it helped inspire and to mark its influence on web 2.0 social networking and the counter culture niche that still belong to the site.
Also, if you check the history of the MOC Wiki entry, you'll be able to see who wrote it.

[edit] subst:nn-warn|Women's Action Network for Development
A tag has been placed on Women's Action Network for Development requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ngo-wand (talk) 09:12, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Women's Action Network for Development (WAND) is a Philippine non-profit, non-government organization that is dedicated to women's leadership and empowerment through different approaches. Thier main objective is to raise and public awareness on women’s issues and structural roots of gender inequality and their intersection with other forms of oppression.
[edit] User: Jonttu
User:Jonttu has insisted on debating the AfD of Pipeline Radio via private e-mail. I told him that all discussion about Wikipedia articles should take place on user talk pages and AfD discussion pages, where they may be viewed and commented upon by the entire community. He has blatantly refused to do so, so I am now posting the content of our e-mail messages here so that he will no longer evade this principle. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 18:30, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
(message thread begins here, in reverse chronological order)
It is quite apparent that you have no clue as to the mission or rules of Wikipedia. It is an encyclopedia, based on verifiable facts and sources, about subjects that are notable. Your station is not, or at least you have not provided reliable, verifiable sources showing why it is. We have standards for notability at Wikipedia, and Pipeline Radio did not meet them. Just because your station exists does not grant it the automatic right to have an article on Wikipedia.
Moreover, the fact that you were basically writing about a subject with which you have material involvement is also a violation of Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. That policy is based on the principle that those who are not involved with a subject are best suited to present a clear-eyed, neutral view of the notability of a subject.
You are free to create your own website and post whatever you wish, whether it is true or not. Have fun.

I hope you understand that this station made radio history, its like trying to wipe something that is a damn fact out of history.
I hope you understand my concern, as as for me not being a pro presenter this is the biggest load of crap this side of England. I have presented for the BBC, NRK, and many other big companys.

[edit] Deletion review
See Wikipedia:Deletion review second paragraph, which says, "This includes appeals to restore deleted pages and appeals to delete pages kept after a prior discussion". I think it has always been like that. On the other point of relisting, Wikipedia:Deletion process states "If not enough discussion happened to determine a consensus or lack thereof add (the relist tag)". It is normally used when only 2 or 3 comments have been added. If there are a lot of comments and still no consensus, there is little point in relisting as it just adds to the lack of consensus. --Bduke (talk) 08:22, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cream skimming
I am curious as to why you put back the "lack of verifiable references" tag on this article, in view of the fact I've found 3 relevant ones to the two conditions I mention, telecommunications and the postal service, and that one of the references is on the website of The World Bank and the other is on the website of the Postal Rate Commission, whom I think are good reliable third-party sources. I'm just curious as to why you seem to discount them, and I'd like to understand better. Paul Robinson (Rfc1394) (talk) 17:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, the thing is, I can go back maybe ten years to the Usenet News Group comp.dcom.telecom where someone did a parody of Don McLean's "American Pie" about "The Day the Bell System Died" about how some competitors "wanted to skim long-distance creams."
I was trying to document the idea, which is why I put in the comment that it is debatable whether cream skimming actually occurs as often as it is feared. My point in giving the examples from telecommunications was to show that despite the fears of that occurring, it never happened; the market was big enough for everybody to get a piece of the pie, and in general long-distance costs dropped dramatically.
I may not have been as neutral as I should have been; I personally think the idea is overblown in most cases. However, the concept is well known and we do not have it defined here so I felt the article was long overdue. Paul Robinson (Rfc1394) (talk) 17:58, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Page Tabs
I'm glad you like the tabs on my page. I wish I had thought of them, I borrowed them from a help article and made some changes to make them generic so they could be used anywhere needed. The global macro that sets them up is called PageTabs, and you can see the instructions from them here. If you're interested in using them, here's how:
- Create a tabs page; this becomes the tabs themselves. The reason for doing this is that if you add or change the tabs, they are consistent on all the pages to which they are used.
- Create the tabs page like this (this is how it will look; don't use a <nowiki> on the actual page. See the source for my User_talk:Rfc1394/tabs page for how it's done.
{{PageTabs
|[[User:Realkyhick|My page]]
|[[User_talk:Realkyhick|Main Talk Page]]
|[[User_talk:Realkyhick/3|2007]]
|[[User_talk:Realkyhick/2|2006]]
|[[User_talk:Realkyhick/1|2005]]
|This={{{This|1}}}}}
Save that page, calling it, say "User_talk:Realkyhick/tabs"
- Include the tabs page as a macro on each page you're going to use it, near the top of the page, in the form something like {{User_talk:Realkyhick/tabs|This=1}} but on each page you use it, you change "This=" to the number of the page you're using it on, e.g. for the example above, the main page would be 1, your talk page would be 2, your 2007 page would be 3, etc.
Write back if you have questions. Paul Robinson (Rfc1394) (talk) 18:39, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I wanted to mention, thanks for asking about the tabs. Based on your question, I decided to update the documentation for the PageTabs macro, giving an example, primarily based on what I put here on your user talk page, so that other people could figure out how to use it, not merely the ones willing to ask me. [edit] Footprints Recruiting
You deleted an entry I made for Footprints Recruiting on Feb. 19, 2008 that was not very good. I completely revised the entry and put it on my Sandbox page - I would appreciate it if you could take a look at it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Teneriff/Sandbox
I paid particular attention to your comment about notability. Footprints Recruiting is notable for three reasons:
It is the largest ESL recruiter in the world - i.e. is a major component of ESL teaching industry, which is a multi-billion dollar business.
It is the first recruiting company to voluntarily implement screening of both schools and applicants (including criminal records).
It offers a free comprehensive, professional library of teaching aids, plans etc. – available to all. This is unique level of support for a teacher recruiting company and is not restricted to Footprints Recruting customers.
Thanks for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

[edit] Mosley Guitars
You have had some input to correct and object to the content for Mosley Guitars, Grayson Guitars and GraysonDNA so I wanted to contact you.
The information in the Mosley Guitar Wikipedia entry is riddled with untrue statements. The company was not founded in the 60's and never produced guitars in the 60's. They have made up a history to attempt to sell guitars based on fraud. They put in all of their listings connections to websites and people that have no connection with the company. They have paid the main writer to produce untrue, inaccurate material.
They should be removed from Wikipedia immediately.Creativepart (talk) 13:44, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism
Hello there, I am confused why something has been labelled vandalism, I had not tried to edit anything today. I clicked on the word vandalism to see what it meant, then got another one! AaaaaGh! I was only trying to check my talk page and have a look at one of my contributions that needs working on. I am very new to this, I am trying to learn how to use wiki but every time i do anything, i seem to get it wrong, I have been reading all the guidelines to help me but finding it hard to learn, i keep getting pulled up before I manage to make any corrections. I would like to edit my article about Carolena Nerricio (she comes under the catergory, creative professional) so am looking for some templates to help me. Could you possibly point me in the right direction? I am not finding wiki very easy to get the hang of. If I looked at another wiki page of another creative professional and used that as an example to help me understand how to write the links and references needed, would that help do you think? Your help would be much appreciated! ChaosBaby (talk) 23:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Carolena Nericcio
She invented an entire style of dance that is now performed all over the world by hundreds of dancers, what is not notable about that? And she has already been written about in several other wiki articles (as being the person that founded the particular style of dance) If users have written articles about dancers who used to be students of Carolena's and are now famous dancers themselves, then surely Carolena is notable as well? You may not have heard of her if you are not a belly dancer but there is not a belly dancer on the planet who has not heard of her. Please review this subject again, Thanks ChaosBaby (talk) 02:37, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] CMH Records Page
I added the CMH Records Page because CMH records is mentioned on other sites in Wikipedia. It provides background information for very popular labels such as Rockabye Baby! and thr Vitamin String Quartet. CMH Records has been around for over 30 years and is very highly regarded in the bluegrass music community. Many people can benefit from the information that will be added to this page. Please let me know if there is something I can remove in order to keep this page active.

[edit] Shalini Ganendra
for the Shalini Ganendra Article - please consider the following facts which can be found by searching the name:
Shalini Ganendra:
was awarded a prestigious Harkness Fellowship from Phillips Exeter Academy in 2007.
is the first Sri Lankan President of the Oxford & Cambridge Society of Malaysia. She has created a regional presence for the Society and intiated the Dialogue Series which encourages debate and dialogue between members/guests with dignitaries who speak on a subject of choice.
- her gallery is the first to show contemporary artists from Malaysia and Sri Lanka during New York's Asian Art week.
Perhaps the article can be reworded to be less of a gallery promotion and more of a focus on her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alotofeffort (talk • contribs) 09:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Not everything is available online. Newspaper articles are rarely kept online for very long especially from smaller papers who have limited resources. I really don't know if these are still available online or not. I'm quite sure the papers are available on microfilm as most are. If microfilm copies are not available in your local library or university library, you can get them through interlibrary loan. This is what I do for much of my research on the Kinston Indians since I don't actually live in Kinston. 69.68.238.142 (talk) 19:26, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I looked up one of them on Google and found a link HERE but the article is not available for free anymore. That may be true of the other Modesto articles too since they are from the same paper. 69.68.238.142 (talk) 19:31, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- THIS ONE also appears to only be available for a fee now. If you subscribe to those news services or wish to pay for the article, you can verify the content is about Adam. 69.68.238.142 (talk) 19:35, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
The Huntsville articles do not appear to be online anymore but THIS article makes reference to the "Seeing is believing" article about Adam in the Huntsville Times. 69.68.238.142 (talk) 19:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure what you're problem with the articles is. Are you saying that just because they are not available online and for free that they can't be used as sources? The requirements of WP:BIO state that "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject". - It does not state that "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject, and is available for free on the internet." 69.68.238.142 (talk) 19:53, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spam in Dimension Data
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Dimension Data, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Dimension Data is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Dimension Data, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Lorrainehunt.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lorrainehunt.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:00, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SugarDVD Deletion
Hello,
I have submitted an article two times today and you have deleted it citing it as a blatant advertisement. I have tried to change it by taking pricing out of the article, removing a list of media coverage, and updating words that may seem sensational. I have tried referencing all facts and mentions of celebrity endorsements as well. I am not sure what to do to make it acceptable.
I looked at several other adult industry Wikipedia articles before writing this and my article seems no more sensationalized or promotional than the Wikipedia entry for Hustler, Playboy, or Wantedlist. I was just hoping to get some feedback from you. Why did this article stand out among millions of articles that seem no different to me?

Two templates on an article that is less than one minute old is entirely unnecessary. As I am sure you are aware, article building is an ongoing process of expansion and revision. We certainly don't want to scare off new editors by slapping templates on articles that are honestly less than one minute old. the_undertow talk 04:45, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't mean to imply that I was a new editor, but to suggest that others may be discouraged by these templates. Yes, you are correct, they are not the Scarlet Letter, but I think articles should be given more than one minute before templating. the_undertow talk 04:56, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- That's why I'll leave new page patrol to you. It's generally junior high bands or an article about the 'greatest and cheapest' web-hosting service in teh internets. the_undertow talk 05:07, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't mean to argue and I don't mean any disrespect. I know you hold authority and I have no interest in undermining that.
I am not affiliated with SugarDVD or with Wantedlist. I am a 21 year old girl in my 2nd year at University and I am writing this article as a communicative writing exercise. Each person in my class had to chose a subject that was not yet in the Wikipedia database, get it approved by the professor, convince the class of it's relevance, and create a Wikipedia article for it. I originally came across the name of this company a year or so ago when I was looking up information on Tori Spelling's fascination with porn. I found the name of the company in an article on page six of the New York Post and I tried to look it up on Wikipedia, which is my go to place for most information. There was no article. I was given this assignment last Thursday and I remembered that this particular subject had no Wikipedia entry so I decided I would tackle it.
I presented it before a class of 55 students, a professor, and a teacher's assistant and I used my original article as support for my case that SugarDVD is a subject worthy of an encyclopedia entry. Adult companies are not typically accepted as "interesting" or "important" which is exactly why I chose this subject. I feel like society approaches the sex industry with a lack of respect and I have never agreed with that. This is just a small article and I am by no means lobbying for change by writing it. I believe the company is interesting. From a business stand point, I am impressed by the exponential growth that happens with many adult companies in the first few years of existence. These companies grow 20 times faster than restaurant chains, coffee houses, and music stores.
Secondly, I am a communications major and I am impressed with their marketing strategy. I have worked in marketing and being persuasive is challenging enough without having the taboo of sex working against you. Once I started reading about SugarDVD, I became more and more interested in how their marketing team was able to create a presence in an America that has become very conservative in the last 15 years. If my article seemed persuasive or promotional, I apologize. I was merely excited and impressed to learn about something new.
Part of writing for a company or making a submission to a website is being rejected or censored but I truly feel this is interesting and worth writing and reading about. I have no qualms making my article more objective but I feel as if I've been slapped in the face to get this far only to be shot down.
If nothing else, my article can't be considered unimportant if these two are.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WantedList
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelliflix
They are each about adult rental businesses that follow the Netflix business model. Essentially, all three of these articles are about the exact same thing. I added in things about Tori Spelling and other celebrities because those were the news stories that I found about the company and they were cited and I felt that they were notable. Aside from Playboy, I never see any major articles about porn companies in the press.
I don't mean to go on forever but I want to make sure I have made my point. I feel like I have a solid case. I would really appreciate it if you could advise me. Thank you. I really am grateful that you've taken the time to read this.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate your help. I understand. I will do some more research on the matter and gather up some more credible sources before attempting a revised article.

[edit] deletion of Space Is For Stars
I think that any active band who is gaining recognition and attracting attention, not to mention releasing albums, deserves to have an article about them on wikipedia. If you go around deleting every article about a band you haven't heard of, wikipedia will not be a very valid source for information on new music, and I think that would oppose the intentions of the site. Space Is For Stars is a new band, but they have regular listeners on their myspace page, play shows regularly, and and have a fan base. They have received recognition from 102.1 the Edge, Toronto's top rock radio station, and Martin Streek, who has been in radio since the 80's. They are a permanent and notable fixture on the Toronto music scene, and are only becoming more popular as time goes on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Garyjellis (talk • contribs) 19:22, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
The article was absolutely not copied and pasted from any other source. I am actually curious as to how you came to this conclusion. There are many articles on wikipedia that don't meet that criteria, so I guess you have your work cut out for you, better start deleting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Garyjellis (talk • contribs) 19:53, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

I removed them because the article stated those were the biggest companies, however the sales numbers show they are actually very small. Please remove this warning from my page.

[edit] Fair Play vs. Sportable Scoreboard Information
By going to the two websites you will notice Fair Play has a list of recent installations which changes weekly due to the many installations they do. You will also notice that Fair Play sells scoreboards, accessories, message boards, video boards, and a whole line of scoreboard controllers.
Sportable Scoreboards on the other hand, they only manufacture scoreboards for 9 sports compared to Fair Play's 12. They also don't manufacture video boards, and have one main controller to operate the whole scoreboard and only have a monochrome message editor. Six years ago Sportable Scoreboards started manufacturing scoreboards with LED while Fair Play has been doing it for the last 10.
In addition Fair Play's market also cat-ores to schools because they have a whole line of School Marquees.
Sportable Scoreboards, Varsity Scoreboards, and All Star scoreboards are actually all the same company but just offer different prices because they are sold through different dealers--so they would be counted as one whole company...there biggest--S'portable Scoreboards.
When was the last time you went to a professional sporting facility and saw a Sportable Scoreboard? NEVER!
If you go to: http://www.sportablescoreboards.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=62&Itemid=84 (Look at the big football scoreboard with the message center)
and look at there biggest scoreboard models---they are very small without a video board.
If you go to the Fair Play installation gallery you will find bigger scoreboards and ones with a video board, the scoreboard at the Toledo Mudhens (AAA Baseball) is a Fair Play with two video boards, one 36ft board and two custom made aux---Sportable Scoreboards doesn't even make a custom board if you would ask.
I hope you can now see the differences and the reasons why I did this, and removed Sportable Scoreboards...thank you.

[edit] Fair Play II
I have no connection to Fair Play Scoreboards besides the fact that I know a lot about scoreboards.
Do you want me to provide company size for every single scoreboard company out there to make sure they are the most accurate?
Just by calling the company you can find that the size is notable smaller, three people work in tech. support, and there is one guy to handle all the sales.
I'm not attempting to be an advertiser for Fair Play scoreboards. I was the one that added the three major scoreboard companies, wouldn't I want to make my company #1 if I was an inside source?
You can easily tell that SS is much smaller than FP just by simply looking at the product line and product size, as I have mentioned before the sports offered differs greatly and the scoreboard length sizes also differ. You can find all this information by comparing products from the SS website (sportablescoreboards.com) and the FP website (Fair-play.com)
You can see that FP offers a 45FT long Football model while the largest SS is 32 feet long, plus Fair Play has more options to add to the scoreboard like a message center, back lit captions, video board, architectural truss' and other items. You can find this by getting a Fair Play Scoreboards Catalog or by visiting Fair-Play.com and clicking on Accessories. (some will be there, the rest in the catolog)
You can find Fair Play is a huge company because they have resellers all over the globe. (http://www.fair-play.com/dealers/) However SS only has one person that takes care of sales.
Trans-Lux (which owns fair play) has over 240,000 employes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Lux) I haven't checked with Sportable to be honest but with only one sales person, and knowing there are three service men--I would be sure they don't have 239,993 people working in manufacturing.
Thanks, I hope this provides you with the information you needed, if not I am willing to write more--I didn't want to ramble on.

[edit] Old car article
I noticed the OR tags you placed on this article.
This is an article I am working on constructing, so I have not placed the reference tags at the end of each statement. Some of the statements currently containing the OR tags can be referenced from links found at the ends of other statements. Others can be referenced from links that I have not added yet. In the next few days, I plan to add these tags. I have read a lot of articles on this topic, plenty enough to establish notability.
I do believe that this article could benefit from a name change, though I would like for there to be an open discussion to come up with a better name. I plan to start that soon.Hellno2 (talk) 04:35, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Adjusters International

[edit] Scoreboards
WOW! Thats amazing!! You are the second person that actually knows what I mean when I say Fair Play, Naden, etc. Did you hear they aren't making boards anymore (Naden?)
I HATE Daktronics it seems to be all there boards are cheep and have a stupid problem with. In fact when I was in 6th grade (now 8th) I led a team of people to get a new scoreboard from our old Nevco at our school, in 8th grade the project finally went through and I got our school to get (after giving many presentations to the board) a Fair Play Scoreboard. Here you can find a picture of the installation--http://www.fair-play.com/gallery/install_detail.php?id=666
What's your favorite company?
Nice to hear from you!! :) Hope to talk to ya soon!
It's cool that we found something in common! (I'll be in Washington D.C. with my school for the next few days so I might not get on--I'll bring my laptop but i'm not sure they have free wi-fi!)

- Anyway, I noticed you speedied a few hockey players and just request that in the future you prod or afd them. I've always reserved speedys to vanity articles for random people and their bands. ccwaters (talk) 18:45, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ok.. I didn't realize you where following an over anxious Rockford fan. I remember the article was around for quite a while, but looks like it was prodded and deleted before : [2] (he wasn't a pro then BTW). While I contest that minor leaguers are professional and therefore meet WP:BIO, I do frown upon mass indiscriminate creation of their articles: ie I have no desire to include the entire Binghamton Senators roster in en.wiki. WP:HOCKEY has a agreement about just that somewhere (its referenced in the AFD I think). Anyway, I'm content to let the AFD play out and plan to honor the decision. ccwaters (talk) 19:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion
The articles BREEAM management was speedily deleted according to Wikipedia:CSD#A2 although no such article exists on any other wikipedia. this is against guidelines. The article should be restored and tagged differently. It was previously tagges with {{notenglish}}, the correct tag for articles in foreign language that does not exist in the Wikipedia of the respective language. It may then be tagged by editors who read the language, for example as {{prod}} or {{afd}} for lack of notability. Andreas (T) 19:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Critical Times - Fishbone's Hen House Sessions
If an admin formally declines to speedy delete an article, it's not appropriate to re-add the {{db-spam}} tag. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 05:16, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- I was in the middle of cutting some of the advertorial crap from the stub, which caused an edit conflict and was probably seen at your end as instantaneous. However, take a look at the article's history, the band, the availability of coverage about this album. AfD'ing potentially viable stubs isn't a chore - it's thoughtless. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 05:23, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] MP-70/MP-50
Hey, what needs to be added to the MP 70/50 Fair Play Controllers page--or was it a stupid idea to put that page on Wikipedia anyway? If you think the Daks controller is hard to push, try Fair Plays MP ones--they are horrible. Nevco's are okay, but very big and bulkey like Electro-Mech's. I think every controller should have at least a two line LCD. Have you ever run a message/video board? What software have you used? What model of the Daks controller do you have where you are?

[edit] CSD nom of Ronald J. Rychlak
I removed the CSD tag you placed on this article. I don't see the copyright violation through the link you pointed out. The text of the article doesn't appear there, only perhaps some confluence between the lists of publications. I'm not sure that even if the list was reproduced identically it would be considered protected from reproduction - if it could be, the list could simply be removed rather than deleting the whole article. Particularly when an article is created by a regular contributor (like User:Mamalujo) it pays to put more careful review into the articles you tag. AvruchT * ER 20:35, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Everyday Rewards (US)
Hi, I set up the page to disambiguate from the (unrelated) Australian program. Content on the US program had been set up on the Aust article. My next step was to attempt to add content to the US page. It may be that there is not enough content, and perhaps removing the web link would be a good start. I might also encourage the user who added the US content to the Australian site to add further content. Murtoa (talk) 06:17, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'll be more careful next time. I didn't believe there would be so little time (a few minutes) between creation and speedy deletion. Anyway I've invited the person who supplied the scant content on the US program in the Aust article to suggest notable content - there may not be any. Murtoa (talk) 22:31, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
