This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Men of War (game), and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.1cpublishing.eu/game/men-of-war/overview. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 03:00, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Men of War (game)

A tag has been placed on Men of War (game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 03:03, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

By admitting that you are a developer of this game, your article thus violates blatant advertising guidelines, and therefore also qualifies for speedy deletion on those grounds. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 03:48, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm not entirely clear about what you're asking, but here's what I think it is: "Where is the line between an article that merely informs about a product, and one that blatantly advertises it?" That's often hard to define. It's a bit like a former U.S. Supreme Court justice when asked about pornography: "I know it when I see it." More to the point, an article is deemed to be advertising when it focuses on the product features in great detail, more so than an article in an independent newspaper or magazine might; when it contains no references from sources other than the manufacturer; and when its prose is overly praiseworthy about the subject or otherwise does not have the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. The latest version of this article pretty much solves the problems, but cut out so much now that another editor flagged it for not have enough context. (That was removed by yet another editor, and rightly so.)
A lot of editors here get really upset about conflicts of interest. The prevailing view is that no one who is actively involved with the subject can possibly write an objective article about that subject, nor can he or she truly be a judge as to whether or not the subject is notable by WP standards and thus deserving of an article in the first place. This view is given credence by the hundreds, even thousands of people who submit article about their companies, products and services, many (perhaps most) of which are advertisements of varying degrees. It's a constant problem, and one which requires constant diligence by editors to make sure that Wikipedia stays on its mission as an encyclopedia, not a collection of ads.
I hope this helps. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:17, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, I just did something that might help you out, if lack of time is your main problem. I place an {{underconstruction}} tag at the top of the page, which basically tells everyone to give you some time to finish your work. Note that other editors are not compelled to heed this tag, especially if they feel you are stalling or just taking too long, but it does help. When you are done, just remove the tag from the article. But be advised that you can't leave it there forever. After a week, other editors may wonder what is taking so long. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 21:03, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
The article is at Men of War. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 23:30, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Men of War (game). Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 03:38, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Men of War

A tag has been placed on Men of War, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Men of War. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. Redfarmer (talk) 13:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Digitalmindsoft. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Redfarmer (talk) 13:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Little context in Men of War

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Men of War, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Men of War is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Men of War, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Notability of Digitalmindsoft

A tag has been placed on Digitalmindsoft requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. gb (t, c) 14:38, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:DMS.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:DMS.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:08, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:DMS.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:DMS.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
