Shane Gibson is the newest 2nd guitarist for the american metal band Korn, after the departure of Clint Lowery in October 2007. He also plays the lead guitar for the solo tour of Jonathan Davis from Korn.
Following Munky's (aka James Shaffer) hiatus in Jan. 2008, Shane became the lead guitar player for Korn.
Jonathan Davis states that Shane "reminds him of Head" in that "he's kind of introverted and whenever he's in the room things just seem to fall around him." However, Shane is an extremely talented musician and he is able to learn and play a song in a matter of minutes. He managed to learn 17 songs in 14 hours to fill in for Clint Lowery in October 2007, and also managed to re-learn new guitar parts of 22 songs to fill in as the lead guitarist for Munky, just in one day.[citation needed]
However, with Munky's return to Korn on Feb. 23rd, 2008, Gibson was back to playing the rhythm guitar parts only.[2]
Shane's stay in the band is unlimited for the moment; he could be with the band for a very long time. [3][4]His new main band, "Stork", with Thomas Lang and Kai Kurosawa, is an experimental rock band that combines many different elements, including thrash metal and progressive rock.[5][6] They are currently working on their new album.
Shane Gibson graduated from Berkley and began giving guitar lessons at PlayGround music center in his hometown of Fort Walton Beach Florida before playing with Korn
