[edit] Music and structure

The track finds Korn experimenting with a Queen-channeling drum beat and a swelling, mid-tempo chorus. Munky plays a 6-string guitar in dropped D flat tuning, rather than his usual 7-string.

[edit] Chart performance

The song reached number 4 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and number 14 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks. It also managed to peak at number 79 on the Hot 100 and number 63 in the UK.

[edit] Live performance

The song is frequently played live, most recently as a combination with Queen's "We Will Rock You" during the first chorus. It has also been performed several times on television, including Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Spike TV's Scream Awards.

[edit] Mashup

Korn and Atlanta crunk rappers Dem Franchize Boyz did a mash-up of their respective hit singles at the time, "Coming Undone" and "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It", titled "Coming Undone Wit It". It was produced by Jermaine Dupri and Scott Spock from The Matrix, and was first released on AOL in April 2006. A video for "Coming Undone Wit It" was released on the DVD portion of Chopped, Screwed, Live and Unglued.

[edit] Music video

The video was directed by Little X, his first time behind the lens for a rock band. Korn are performing in a desert in broad daylight. The sky shatters like glass to reveal a night sky. Then, the whole background shatters, leaving a plain white background. Lastly, they are literally coming undone and as they do, they resemble slinkies. Korn is completely gone at the video's end.

[edit] Appearances in media

The song is played when The Detroit Tigers' third baseman Brandon Inge comes to the plate. It was also featured in a commercial for the CBS crime drama series, Criminal Minds, and in the video game, Blitz: The League.
