Cernobbio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Milan and about 2 kilometres (1 mi) northwest of Como, on the border with Switzerland. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,031 and an area of 11.7 km².[1]
The municipality of Cernobbio contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Rovenna and Piazza Santo Stefano.
Cernobbio borders the following municipalities: Blevio, Caneggio (Switzerland), Como, Maslianico, Moltrasio, Morbio Superiore (Switzerland), Sagno (Switzerland), Vacallo (Switzerland).
