WWVT is a listener-supported public radio service of Virginia Tech and Ferrum College operated by WVTF. The station features BBC news and NPR talk programs to listeners in the New River Valley. The station broadcasts on 1260AM in the New River Valley, 89.7 in Roanoke, 89.7 and 91.5 in Charlottesville, 89.9 in Ferrum/Rocky Mount, 89.5 in Lynchburg and online.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s 1260 AM was formerly WJJJ-AM and broadcast beautiful music and later 60's oldies music. From 1995 to 1998, the station had the callsign of WNNI. The station acquired its current call sign after the station was donated by BOCEPHUS BROADCASTING in 1998.[1][2]
