Thomson MRT Station (CC17), is an MRT station on Circle MRT Line (in Singapore). When the Circle Line was initially planned, this station was only planned as a shell station and will be topped up and opened only when the surroundings are more developed. However, it will now open with the rest of Stage 4 as there are more developments in the area.[1]However unlike its namesake it is much closer to Toa Payoh Lorong 1 than the thomson estate. It is situated on Toa Payoh Rise,a road on a hill that links Toa Payoh and Thomson estates which also forms the Toa Payoh West and Thomson sub-constituency of the Bishan-Toa Payoh Electoral Constituency. It is a 10 minute walk from Braddell MRT Station.Thomson MRT Station is expected to be an interchange with the planned 18-station Thomson MRT Line, to be opened in 2018.[1]
