T-baneringen is the newest subway line on the Oslo T-bane, completed on August 21, 2006. It forms a line north of the downtown area connecting the east and west sides of the network, the first such connection apart from the downtown central section. Two of the new stations, Storo and Nydalen, were opened August 20, 2003, and a third, Sinsen, opened when the circle was completed. The line connects with Grorudbanen in the east at Carl Berners plass and with Sognsvannsbanen in the west at Ullevål stadion.

[edit] Operation of the circuit
Currently, the entire loop is operated by Lines 4 and 6, and part of the line is operated by line 5.
The line is not operated by trains on a continuous circuit like the Circle Line on the London Underground is operated. The journey time of a complete loop around the new line is about 24 minutes, which coordinates poorly with the 15 minute headway which the Oslo subway operates. In addition, delays are difficult to remove on such a system.
Instead, Line 4, Lambertseterbanen, runs through downtown, then enters the loop. On the loop, at Ullevål stadion, the line number changes to 6 and the train continues around the loop, through the downtown section a second time, before leaving downtown on Kolsåsbanen in the west. In addition line 5 (Grorudbanen) runs to Storo, but does not run the entire loop.
