[edit] Love Psychedelico

Hi, I noticed you removed an album cover image from the infobox for this band. I'm not sure that even with 2M unit sales, the album merits a separate article so this is the last use of the image, and it would be subject to deletion. I've not done much with bands lately so perhaps standards have changed... Do you have a reference to a project guideline or manual of style entry that supports this removal? Thanks. ++Lar: t/c 15:46, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

(Refactored from User_talk:Lar per my policy) I believe this could let you understand the Wikipedia's policy for the non-free album cover use on Wikipedia: Wikipedia:Non-free content#Images 2. Album covers cannot be used in the article for the band or artist itself. Also, only free images can be used to identify living people as it also says in that section. And I don't think that section of a guideline has been modified for a long time.. --staka (TC) 16:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
The only mention of the term "album cover" in that guideline (it's a guideline, not a policy, but I take guidelines seriously as a guide to accepted practice) is in reference to discography lists/articles. This is not a discography, it's the main article for the band. So that guideline doesn't support your removal, I don't think. Please keep researching if you would. Meanwhile I will see if enough information exists about the album itself to write a meaningful article on the album. If I can't find enough information, and you can't find a policy or guideline or style guide that addresses band articles (not discographies), I probably will be reverting your removal. Thanks for your efforts on behalf of the encyclopedia. ++Lar: t/c 16:38, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I asked the question who hours ago here: Wikipedia:Help desk#Album covers for band article. That user said the album covers cannot be used in the discographies section or any sections for the identification of one small thing, however, he says that it can be used in the band's infobox, I believe. --staka (TC) 21:16, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the additional followup on that! So it sounds like it was a legitimate use. Meanwhile I did not find enough to write a spinout article on that album. So, shall I revert it back in or do you want to? Let me know. Happy editing! ++Lar: t/c 23:15, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I have added back the album cover and also removed the fairuse orphan template from the album page. --staka (TC) 00:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks very much! I look forward to our future encounters... Happy editing! ++Lar: t/c 01:21, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] CIA personnel estimate

I'm sorry, but the number is significantly smaller than other issues, and does not come from a source considered authoritative on intelligence. Please discuss this on the CIA talk page. Howard C. Berkowitz (talk) 03:08, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re: Koizora

Thank you for the answer. It sounds like a kind of Densha Otoko with DMB by another anonymous author. But I think the article still needs a brief description about the "cell phone short story" for readers who're not keen to the multimedia culture. If the term was only found in Japan, a relevant article might be needed. Regards. --Appletrees (talk) 17:10, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nagoya, Batam

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Nagoya, Batam, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://wikitravel.org/en/Nagoya_(Batam). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 03:27, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of SKE48

A tag has been placed on SKE48 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Corvus cornixtalk 21:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from SKE48, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Corvus cornixtalk 21:36, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of SKE48

A tag has been placed on SKE48 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.
