Miss Universe Botswana

The Miss Universe Botswana is a beauty pageant that was first held in 1999, with winner competing in the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Universe Botswana is not related to the previous Miss Botswana competition.

The reigning Miss Universe Botswana is Icho Keolotswe, who was crowned in 2004.[1]

The first ever Miss Universe Botswana pageant was held at the Grand Palm Hotel Casino Resort in the Botswana capital Gaborone on the 19 March 1999.[2] Mpule Kwelagobe, Miss Botswana 1997 won the title and went on to be Miss Universe 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago. She became the first black African Miss Universe.
