Luserna (Cimbrian: Lusèrn) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Trento in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 25 km southeast of Trento. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 284 and an area of 8.2 km².[1]
Luserna borders the following municipalities: Caldonazzo, Lavarone, Levico Terme, Pedemonte, Rotzo and Valdastico.
About 90 percent of the people of Luserna - like a considerable number in the Fersina Valley - speak a Germanic language called Cimbrian.[2] Formerly, Cimbrian was also spoken in neighbouring Lavarone, Sette Comuni and Tredici Comuni.[citation needed]
