Lavis is a comune (municipality) in the province of Trento in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige, located about 7 km north of Trento. As of 31 December 2006, it had a population of 8,307 and an area of 12.4 km².[1]
The municipality of Lavis contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Pressano, Sorni and Nave San Felice.
Lavis borders the following municipalities: Giovo, San Michele all'Adige, Nave San Rocco, Zambana, Trento and Terlago.
