[edit] Virginia FAC
Kubigula, I think Virginia is about ready for a Feature Article try. I am wondering if you see anything that might be problematic in the article, and if you'll be around in the next few weeks to help out, as you did for the Good Article try.--Patrick Ѻ 19:35, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I think those are the choices. I don't think the user is saying we shouldn't uses those, just asking why those. Anyway, I'm trying to find some replacements where I can.--Patrick Ѻ 20:26, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- Yea, bummer. But it was doomed. If we don't get a support in the first three comments, then no one would be likely to support it. It's kind of a crapshoot, and there were some very picky reasons, like image sandwiching, and specifying private insurance. One thing that I blame myself for is forgetting to criticize our subject in the lead. FAC reviewers, in my experience, look for criticism. Also disappointing was the many things in Minnesota and Oklahoma that were problematic only for Virginia, like those sources, and the USA map that is used for all states. Oh well, I think I'll take a break for a while.--Patrick Ѻ 10:38, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I Was The Vandal
User:Kubigula - Please forgive my childishness in vandalizing your talk page. I was the anon IP user that kept blanking your page in a "test" to see how admins would react. You can read about the full undertaking here. Again, I meant you no personal harm or displeasure. Thanks. -- VegitaU (talk) 01:15, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 71.99.
Wanna keep an eye on him if it gets too out of hand? Current one is 71.99.135.115. He appears to be edit warring and making personal attacks again. I won't be online for much longer and I don't wanta come back in the morning discovering that all my edits have been undone by him. So can you please keep watching and block after next move? [edit] Image for deletion
Hi, I added the speedy deletion tag to Image:Stephen Daly.jpg because it had been specifically uploaded for the now deleted article Stephen Daly. Images are an area of Wikipedia with which I am reasonably unfamiliar, so perhaps you wouldn't mind assisting me. What is an appropriate template to use for images that are used in articles which are subsequently deleted?
The image is not currently used in any article, as you will see if you check for what links to the image. Thanks in advance. LittleOldMe (talk) 12:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that answers my questions. Thank you very much for taking the time to educate me. Regards LittleOldMe (talk) 14:36, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Project
Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.
If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 02:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that I was getting lost between the vndlsms- your help is appreicated SatuSuro 04:28, 7 May 2008 (UTC) Thanks - yeah I think a group of school kids might pick on it - our other delights are deserts of australia - they seem popular at the mo :( thanks again SatuSuro 04:36, 7 May 2008 (UTC) My favourite for today is however http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Great_Southern_Railway_%28Western_Australia%29 someone has gone into a net cafe and stumbled through google obviously and left the message - not realising its a wikipedia talk page of a service that hasnt had a passenger for over 20 years at least :( SatuSuro 04:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC) Nah - its a recent derrailment of the Great Southern Railway who do the passenger services across the Nullarbor - hasnt bothered to see the Western Australian qualifier in the title - we all do it i suppose - sigh :( SatuSuro 04:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Kubigula, just wanted to stop by and say thanks for helping me delete those old subpages (thats what the smile is for). [edit] User_talk:AbuBaydat
You posted an indefinite block message on AbuBaydat's talk page (thanks, btw), but the log here doesn't show a block listed. Is the log not supposed to record indef blocks? Thanks, Aylad ['ɑɪlæd] 20:56, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Never mind, I figured it out. The log would have shown any blocks AbuBaydat placed, not those placed on him/her. Sorry! Aylad ['ɑɪlæd] 21:11, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you - I am SLOWLY figuring things out. At least I figured out how to write you back. lol. I understand the you tube controversy - I finally figured it out when I read a little in depth. The video is great for Clint's Wikipedia page though {it's him reading some of his own material for a gallery display - and a big one to boot} - if I host it to another server is there a way to link or list it on his wikipedia page? Thanks!Tallulah13 (talk) 05:45, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hey! You rejected my Speedy Deletion...
...for the recently created article Chad Perrone -- and I wanted to say that you were correct! I reviewed your comments and re-reviewed the context of the article, and you were 100% right. - Hey, tell ya what. For the sake of academic curiosity, I will submit it to AfD and see if it stands there for the full debate. And I am glad that you got a smile from my message. Here's another smile for you:

- Hey, good to see your input in the AfD for Chad Perrone. How do you think it will wind up? I suspect people will follow your lead and opt for redirect. Hope all is well. Thanks! Ecoleetage (talk) 12:16, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

You've already warned him about vandalism, he's up to more tricks with the AT4 article, constantly changing the caliber to 83 mm and reverting the corrections by other editors. GMan552 (talk) 02:10, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image
Thanks for your note, Kubigula. The reason I like to keep copies of animal rights-related images is that in the past they've been deleted from the Commons, even when they're PD and once even with an OTRS ticket. It's a subject that can trigger strong feelings, which is perhaps why it happens. For that reason, from then on, I have requested that local copies be kept of images that I know are being used in articles. Best, SlimVirgin talk|edits 04:38, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
