Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase is a type of alcohol oxidoreductases which acts as a dehydrogenase upon a hydroxysteroid.

There are four types, classified by the number of the carbon acted upon:

3 pregnenolone progesterone
3 17-Hydroxypregnenolone 17-Hydroxyprogesterone
3 dehydroepiandrosterone androstenedione
11 cortisol cortisone
17 androstenedione testosterone
20 progesterone 20-alpha-dihydroprogesterone
