'TIS MANGO SEASON....
Have a shlice of mango cheek...well, I am up to my armpits in the things. Yuletide means lots and lots of mangos, as well as turkey and ham and ice-cream and pressies. Were on special so I bought 3 crates for AU$20 and now I have both crispers in the refrigerator full and even with everyone eating two of the ##$@& things every mealtime... I was wondering why you deleted with article? It was deleted for "CSD G12: Blatant Copyright infringement" yet there were no copyright issues with the article at all. Someone else has since restored a skeleton page, but it shouldn't have been deleted in the first place. I'm hoping it was an accident and you can fix it, otherwise I will tootle over to Wikipedia:Deletion review and bring it up there.

WikiProject Australia newsletter Issue 2, Volume 1 — January 1, 2008

Welcome! WikiProject Australia is a WikiProject, which aims to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Australia and Australia-related topics. This newsletter exists simply to notify Australian Wikipedians of ongoing events within the project and relating to Australia on Wikipedia. Australian Wikimedia chapter Wikimedia chapters are independent organisations run by Wikimedians to further promote the Wikimedia projects run by the Wikimedia Foundation, and to "empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain, and to disseminate it effectively and globally". This means that we in the chapter can promote Wikipedia and other Wikimedia wikis and their contributor's work in our area. Currently, a chapter for Australia is in discussion. If you're interested in helping the Wikimedia Foundation in more ways than just creating articles, and by promoting Wikipedia and other projects so people can start to read your work and become contributors, then consider adding yourself to the interested participants list at www.wikimedia.org.au The proposed chapter also has an IRC channel on the freenode network: join #wikimedia-au next time you are online. The seventh IRC meeting for Wikimedia Australia will also be held in this channel at 8 pm (AEDT-UTC+11) on January 6 (WA at 6pm, SA at 7:30pm and QLD at 7pm). For more information, visit this page. Recent happenings 2007 has been an excellent year for WikiProject Australia and its members – a sudden rise in article quality (see "Quality watch"), more article collaboration, portal creation, gap-filling article creation, image requests fulfilled, newsletter writing and award awarding. Success! A sudden surge in new Portals took place late in the year, with numerous new portals being created and later being promoted to featured status, the best a young portal can get. Among the portals currently being worked on are: South Australia, New South Wales, Australian cars, Music of Australia, Powderfinger, Queensland, with portals for a lot of other topics to come very soon in the new year. Portals and "topics" go hand in hand (not really), and many within the project and throughout Wikipedia aspire to achieve featured topic status for a particular topic. Goals to promote all capital cities to featured status, and among others, a Powderfinger featured topic, and a featured topic on The Invincibles cricket team. It's for sure that 2008 will be filled with Aussie pride, so hang in there with those flags, everyone! Especially on Australia Day, *hints surprises* :) Of course, writing featured articles and making up clever hooks for use on "Did you know" isn't the only way to contribute. Many users contribute day-in, day-out, maintaining the project and portals, tagging and assessing articles, making suggestions at featured article candidacies, coordinating collaborations within the project, responding to peer reviews, save valid articles in deletion debates, in short, the stuff that if not done, will cause the whole project as we know it to slowly deteroriate. Many users who don't qualify for awards like Durova's Triple Crown award, qualify for others. Moondyne recognised the users who work tirelessly every day to make sure that every thing is running smoothly by introducing a new award – the Drover's Award. Initiated in December, eight users have already received an award that is set to become a prestigious award for all Australia-related topic editors; SatuSuro, Longhair, Spebi, Moondyne, Grahamec, Mattinbgn and ScottDavis and more are sure to be awarded. If you know of any users who work tirelessly behind the scenes and have not yet been recognised for their greatly appreciated efforts, award them the Drover's Award. More users have been awarded Durova's Triple Crown award for WikiProjects. This award was given to WikiProject Australia after 5 users who qualified for Durova's standard crown (one DYK, GA, FA). Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! You are, of course, free to change your oppose at any time, but it would be nice if you gave a better reason for the shift. The comment you have highlighted there was actually more geared to illistrating a point with regard to BQZip01 and his not returning to comment after the fact, which I find disquieting since the vast majority of admin work is somewhat mindless repetition of the same points to people obsessed with small details. If he can't check on measelly FAC (and I grant that this is, at the end of the day, not that important) then I have to wonder how he is going to handle the butload of people who will be on him for the admin-related actions he takes, and that fact there is whats throwing up red flags for me. An answer -any answer- to my previous responses would likely have settled this issue for me quite some time ago, just as your response now has settled the issue of your participation in the FAC. As always, I apreciate in the input, and though I would have liked for your support to have remained on the FAC page I respect your opinion on the matter and will not bother you about it again. I agree that his edits are all heavily AWB minor fixes. However I did note a series of reversions in December that all looked good. He seems experienced and has a clean block log / talk page etc. and I don't think any harm will come. He looks unlikely to actually use the tool, IMHO, but that isn't a reason to deny it. (Admitedly this whole thing has so little procedure and reference it's hard to make any decisions based on a policy !) If you wish please feel free to re-open the request for further input. Hi, a fellow editor on David Hicks feels and is editing on the basis that newspapers just include "alleged" to save themselves from legal action and that on WP we don't need to follow their example. I have now run up to 3Reverts (which you or a fellow admin says is too many on David Hicks). I have begun discusion with the editor and they did provide another source in the article. Not so much the towns but more the Flora, vegetation, small creatures lizards,frogs,insects. What happen now is that some other ediotrs who also watch this page may add some requests. Hi Thanks for your message. I agree Image:Stjameskingswood.JPG is Holy Trinity church not St James's & should be renamed (& the text/titles in Church of St James, Kingswood and Kingswood, South Gloucestershire changed). I've looked at Holy Trinity at IoE for confirmation. I took this photo while in the area to do Whitefield's Tabernacle, Kingswood & was relying on the street name on my map (St James's Street). [edit] Regarding the Deletion of Bluepill

I would like to state my argument for the restoration of Bluepill. The Bluepill is a metaphorical object from the Matrix Series, it represents the ignorant, the ones who would rather "not know," and it is relivant for this reason. If I recall correctly, the Bluepill Article also included quotes from the first time the pill was introduced in The Matrix. These are quite interesting philosophical words from Morpheus, and they deserve their spot on Wikipedia. There are also serveral links to the former Bluepill page hinding around Template:Matrix. These pages will benefit from the restoration of Bluepill. Redpill looks dreadfully not supplemented without its companion, Bluepill. I will spare you my Free Information rant, because you most probably know it. The Internet Community begs of you to restore Bluepill. Thank you.

The reversions were over a source being misrepresented on a BLP, unsourced accusations being placed on a BLP.

It was the 13 January I also warned Prester John [1] WP:3RR says that all parties should be warned before blocking, if you have a problem with a blp issue instead of revert warring you should post to WP:AN/I or WP:BLP/N and get outside view normally an admin, who can protect/block where appropriate. I didnt see any reference to a blp issue in the edit summaries before warning, only edit summaries typical of POV warring. Also when warned you should have raise the issue at the time if I was aware of a BLP issue(to me it was only a wording issue) I would have been able to take appropriate steps. do not seem to me typical of "POV warring" - but then what do I know? PresterJohn did the same edit one month later. When I took this issue to ANI I got no response. So at present have no confidence in WP admins enforcing boundaries on editors or my understanding of policies and procedures. See [[2]] for my latest attempt to make sense of this issue.
