Frassinoro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Modena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 70 km southwest of Bologna and about 50 km southwest of Modena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,137 and an area of 95.7 km².[1]
The municipality of Frassinoro contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Piandelagotti, Fontanaluccia, Rovolo, Romanoro, Riccovolto, and Sassatella.
Frassinoro borders the following municipalities: Castiglione di Garfagnana, Montefiorino, Palagano, Pievepelago, Riolunato, Toano, Villa Minozzo.
