[edit] History
The radio station known as HOT 103 first started broadcasting in Winnipeg as CKWG, with a near free-form format. The call signs have changed quite a bit over the years, from CHZZ to CKLU and then finally to CKMM. In 1996 the station switched to a country music format with the on-air name of Star 103 FM. When Star 103 FM and QX-104 FM (Winnipeg's other country music station) came under the ownership of Standard Radio the format of Star 103 was changed to avoid redundancy. CKMM re-launched with a CHR format as HOT 103 on New Year's Eve 1997. Most on-air talent including popular morning show hosts Caroline Hunter and Ron Able moved to QX-104 FM along with afternoon show host Doug Anderson.
On October 29, 2007, Astral Media took over CKMM-FM as a result of a buyout of Standard Radio.
