WTNZ, "Fox 43", is the Fox network affiliate in Knoxville, Tennessee.
[edit] History
WTNZ signed on December 31, 1983 as WKCH-TV (nicknamed "Catch 43"), an independent station.
In 1986, WKCH-TV affiliated with Fox, nicknaming as "Catch Fox 43". In 1994, it changed its call letters to WTNZ.
Despite the network musical chairs that occurred in Knoxville over the years, WTNZ has been Knoxville's only Fox affiliate during the network's history.
[edit] News operation
Currently, WTNZ does not have a news department. Instead, it has a "news share" agreement with the market's ABC affiliate WATE-TV which is owned by Young Broadcasting. That station produces a nightly 30-minute newscast which airs on WTNZ at 10 pm.
