[edit] History
Living Faith Television was founded by Dr. Rev. Buford Smith after claiming God has given him a vision to build a TV station in Virginia. The station grew from the original station in Grundy to include the other 3 transmitters.
Dr. Rev. Buford Smith was Pastor of Tookland Pentecostal Church in Grundy until his passing in May 2003. His son Dr. Michael Smith was President of the station until Dr. Buford Smith's death, where He took full control of the station.
Tookland Pentecostal Church was a major financier to the founding of the station and broke most ties with the station after the station declared their independence, after a church tried to claim ownership of the station in 2006. The struggle was for ownership of station was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
Living Faith Television is now under the control of Mike Smith along with wife Lisa Smith. Other personalities are Mary Smith (wife of the late Buford Smith), Laverne Tripp and Fred Schmidt.
