[edit] Hybrid couplers

I noticed that you added the {{stub}} template to the Hybrid coupler article. I view that as an extended redirect to the Power dividers and directional couplers article. A plain redirect wouldn't work, but a definition followed by a link seem sufficient to me.

I would encourage people to expand the Power dividers and directional couplers article rather than the Hybrid coupler article. Would you reconsider the stub template? --Gerry Ashton 14:36, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

You asked for more information about hybrid couplers. One definition I've seen is a coupler that divides an input equally between two outputs, so one can just read the "Power dividers and directional couplers article" with that definition in mind. There may be fields within electronics where hybrid coupler has a more specific meaning, but I don't know for sure. --Gerry Ashton 19:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fleurier

Hi. You recently added text to Fleurier that said that it was the place in the world with the most Nobel Prize winners. I have added the names of the two persons, but do you have a reference for the claim that this makes Fleurier the place with the most prize winners? I would have thought a large city or a university town such as Cambridge, Massachusetts might be able to claim more. Regards, --BillC 21:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, and thanks for replying. I don't mean to denigrate Fleurier, but to pick just a single example, Paris was the birthplace of at least three Nobel laureates: Frédéric Joliot-Curie, Henri Moissan and Frédéric Passy, so Fleurier clearly does not hold this record. --BillC 16:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Tres5.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tres5.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ed g2stalk 13:53, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Also I guess you are OW? What year? ed g2stalk 13:53, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Please do not perform cut and paste moves. Doing so erases the edit history and violates copyrights (GFDL). Use WP:RM if you want to propose a move. Thanks, Prolog 20:28, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GAC backlog elimination drive

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:11, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:51, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:CVU status

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:London informer.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:London informer.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
