Waskatenau (pronounced /wəˈsɛtnə/) is a village in central Alberta, Canada. It is located in Smoky Lake County, 90 km northeast of the city of Edmonton.

In 2006, Waskatenau had a population of 278 living in 152 dwellings, a 10.3% increase from 2001.[2] The village has a land area of 0.60 km² (0.2 sq mi) and a population density of 466.1/km² (1,207.2/sq mi).[1]
