United States Senate election in Montana, 2008

Montana generally gives its presidential electors to Republican candidates, but it has also elected several prominent Democrats in recent years including Governor Brian Schweitzer and Senator Jon Tester. In 2006, the Republican Party took over state House of Representatives in Montana, the only such pick-up for the Republicans.
