[edit] Just a heads up...

I moved your old RfA back into place, and the current one to Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Slgrandson 2, as per the standard naming scheme for multiple RfAs. No worries, just letting you know. EVula // talk // // 22:15, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, just FYI, I left you a question on your RfA. Feel free to take your time answering. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 00:49, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Tantamount_cover.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tantamount_cover.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 09:07, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your RFA

Hey Slgrandson, sorry to say that I've closed your RfA as unsuccessful. You had a reasonable level of support but the opposers and neutrals outweighed that. I hope it doesn't terminally dissuade you from running again, take a look at the opposition rationales and, if you choose to do so, act on them and run again soon. Feel free to give me a shout if you'd like to discuss anything. All the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 17:26, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] external image

If you want changes to the official policy for {{external image}}, discuss it. Adding an example that is not in accordance with the guidelines is no solution. Wandalstouring (talk) 14:16, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] FLC

Thanks for the note - just to make sure, you want me to weigh in on the FLC, not peer review it again, right? I am fairly backlogged at WP:PR but will try to get to it in the next day or two. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry, I did not get a chance to look at List of The Bellflower Bunnies episodes again until yetserday and saw it had already not passed at FLC. I agree with the comments about it needing a copyedit - WP:LoCE or WP:PRV are two places to ask. Do you still want my comments? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:27, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NYC Meetup: June 1, 2008

New York City Meetup

Next: Sunday June 1st, Columbia University area
Last: 3/16/2008
This box: view  talk  edit

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, elect a board of directors, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).

We'll also review our recent Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wiki Week bonanza, being planned with Columbia University students for September or October.

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

Also, check out our regional US Wikimedia chapters blog Wiki Northeast (and we're open to guest posts).
