EVula is dealing with real-life crap (see the links). I'll be around, but not doing much more than WP:CHU patrols.

Note: I recently was informed that this page looks like crap in Firefox. Not sure why, as it works just fine in Safari, which is what I use. I may try to fix it at some point.

Everything you need to know about me as an admin/bureaucrat, plus everything I need to reference to be an admin/bureaucrat. (purge)

Tip of the day...

Wikipedia-specific searching with Firefox

In Firefox, the search box has a little pull down menu to allow you to choose which search engine it uses. Several popular search engines come included, but not Wikipedia. However, Firefox provides a page on their website listing more search engines you can add to that menu, including Wikipedia's search. To add Wikipedia, simply go here and click on Wikipedia in the list provided, and you're done. To activate it, pull-down the menu at the search box and click on Wikipedia there. Now you have a second Wikipedia search box. Unlike the search box in Wikipedia's sidebar, which disappears off the screen when you scroll down to read a long page, the Firefox search box always remains on the screen, ready to assist. (Keep in mind, typing <Alt>-F also places the cursor in the Wikipedia search box.)

[edit] If you're unhappy with some admin-ish thing I've done...

...I'd recommend you drop me a line on my talk page.

Actually, I'd recommend you take a deep breath, make sure I actually did screw up (entirely possible), then drop me a line.

Please, do not email me about admin stuff; I try to keep everything on-wiki if at all possible. If I've blocked you, there's always {{unblock}}; I also keep all blocked user talk pages on my watchlist, and will check back on them a few hours after I've left my notice.

Also, I am open to administrator recall. To see my criteria for recall, read User:EVula/opining/admin recall.

[edit] History

I was made an administrator on November 7, 2006.[1] My RfA closed with a vote of 62/0/0. Near as I can tell, I'm admin #1,047.

My first RfB was closed as non-consensus on July 1, 2007; the second was also closed as non-consensus on 24 December 2007. My third RfB passed (122/1/2) on 3 June 2008.

[edit] Bot-reported

  • Matches the literal pattern stalker.
  • The string stalker is prone to false positives, please take extra care ensuring this name is actually a violation before blocking. HBC NameWatcherBot (talk) 04:50, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • This user has edited at least one time.
  • Matches the regular expression called Poop. The portion that matched was Poop.
  • Matches the literal pattern homo.
  • The string homo is prone to false positives, please take extra care ensuring this name is actually a violation before blocking.
  • The string homo has a comment associated with it: Homo is latin for man. Please keep this in mind when evaluating a name HBC NameWatcherBot (talk) 05:37, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • This user has edited at least one time.
  • Matches the regular expression called dotfoo. The portion that matched was DOTcom.
  • This report was delayed until the user edited.
  • The string called dotfoo has a comment associated with it: Please check whether this name is promoting a Web site. Names may coincidentally resemble URLs or point to parked domains so take care. HBC NameWatcherBot (talk) 06:09, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User-reported

  • Note: If this 'might' be promotional then it isn't a blatant violation meriting attention here. Consider a username concern and/or conflict of interest notification instead. WilliamH (talk) 23:01, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
