Welcome to my talk page. Please leave me a message below and I will reply on your talk page. Although my email address is enabled, it is not an address I check often (so I may be slow in replying to email). Please also note that while I am glad to do peer reviews on just about any article, I do not have the time to do copyedits (sorry). Thanks for stopping by and happy editing! [edit] WP:PR
If you close Jack Kemp am I stukk over the limit?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 01:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- If I am at four then I am under the limit. However, why is there a 14 day wait after something fails at another review process?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I misunderstood. You are saying that after closing a PR you can not apply for a quality rating for 14 days. That is still a bad idea. All it does is slow down the process of improving the project. However, often times a PR closes with a backdated closing date, so it won't always be a problem. The real issue is all the articles that show up at WP:FAC and don't know that their PR is suppose to be closed first. We usually just tell them to close the PR and go on with FAC. This would force them to close both for 14 days.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Deletion of Wikipedia talk:Peer reviews by date
Thanks for the heads-up and sorry about the inconvenience. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 00:16, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Worlds End State Park
Once again a section about Worlds End State Park. Your plans sound like a plan to me. I have been very busy IRL. I will be "working" tomorrow and Wed. I shall look over the peer review now and see if there is anything I can fix really quick. Have a good one my friend. Dincher (talk) 01:13, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
I like the new pic at Hyner View. That's a good find too. Dincher (talk) 19:34, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mind if we wait until next weekend to nominate. Say Sunday or Monday? Dincher (talk) 21:11, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
I think I just might wait to hear from them instead of asking again. You can ask if you want. I noticed you've been adding the official state park maps to some parks. I added it to Susquehanna and have the template figured out. What is need to know is how to find out how many Kibibytes the maps have. Are they all the same? Dincher (talk) 21:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- It can't hurt to add them to the external links. If somebody doesn't like them we can always get rid of them. I'll do it now. Dincher (talk) 21:49, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
The nomination is in. This time I am pretty sure that I did it correctly. If not I am sure you'll know how to fix it. Dincher (talk) 12:43, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Groundhog
Check out the groundhog at this website. He's eating a slice of pizza! Dincher (talk) 01:21, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Oh I am pretty sure it would be legal at a Pennsylvania state park. The little critters have the run of the place! Dincher (talk) 02:52, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Why are the whistle pigs held in such esteem? Hunting season for the little buggers is basically unlimited. I got excited about the new pics and hastily added one. I see you fixed the caption. Thanks! I don't plan on adding more, I'll leave this up to you. I do think a pic of Cabin 4 should go "somewheres". Dincher (talk) 20:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- The new geobox pic is quite nice. I like the little dark cloud over the lake. The others plans sound good to me. Dincher (talk) 21:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
The pics at Black Mo look really good. I will look at the bridge now. Dincher (talk) 23:08, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think there is a need to be specific about the seasons. I do like the contrasting pics. It's good to keep some seasonal photos in all the articles. It should be easy with this one since there is over 70 pics of the park on commons. Dincher (talk) 01:47, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry
Didn't know about the policy, thanks for the benefit of the doubt and kindness.--Briaboru (talk) 03:06, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Peer review limits
Thanks for letting me know that users cannot submit more than one peer review per day. I will not do that again in the future. However, one of those articles was split off from the other, so perhaps I should have listed both articles on one listing?
On an entirely separate matter, when someone like you leaves a note on My Talk page, should I reply to it there? If they have not clicked Watch, they will not see my response, will they? Thanks again, and Wiki On!--Mak Allen (talk) 02:08, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bridges
I like the bridge DYK idea. I will try to work on one of them tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be able to do much until Saturday. Dincher (talk) 03:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- I won't be doing any major work on anything on wiki until Saturday. If you want to do the bridges go ahead. Have a good one. Dincher (talk) 21:31, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay. I am planning on nominating WESP for FA on Saturday morning. Sound okay? Then I'll work on a bridge or too. Dincher (talk) 01:20, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Check out the flickr pic I found of the Forksville Covered Bridge at Forksville. It's a better picture for the borough. Dincher (talk) 23:26, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I thought I'd work on the Sonestown Covered Bridge. Dincher (talk) 12:24, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
- Upon further review I am going to be unable to make any substantial contributions to the bridges. I am just too busy at "work", really, and at home. They are all yours. I'll be happy to do copy edits, etc. But I am just to busy physically and mental to be creating anything worth while today or tomorrow. I hope that the WESP FAC goes well. Dincher (talk) 14:12, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Best of luck with the DYK and the GA. I agree the FAC is looking really good. Dincher (talk) 22:35, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- I hope that your bridges road trip was fun! Can't wait to see the pics. Dincher (talk) 01:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I really like the Hillsgrove Covered Bridge. It's not cute. Cute's good if you're a kid or a puppy, not if you're a bridge. Dincher (talk) 01:34, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] copyedit request
Hello Ruhrfisch. I was wondering if you could take a quick look at VNQDD for FAC? Tony's put it under the wringer a little. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. I've done some tweaking. you spotted some things that the book didn't :) Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
IIRC you did use to have something on your userpage about knowing some organic chemistry. I wonder if you had ever heard of Buu Hoi - he did some org chem- I was going to look for some help with his cancer research, because I was mostly getting the science stuff from an obit and might need some help making it more accessible later. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 07:35, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Phillies peer review
Thanks for reviewing Philadelphia Phillies, Ruhrfisch (as a German speaker, I love that username, BTW). I appreciate your input and have posted several comments to the review page, as well as trying to fix a lot of your concerns. If you wouldn't mind and have some time, I'd appreciate it if you could give the article and the review another quick once-over, just to see if you have any more suggestions. Thanks so much for the time and effort you put in. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 17:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's what I get for being born and raised in Pennsylvania Dutch country. Haha. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 19:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- So did I, but German was a very popular class in an area where it can actually be helpful! KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 21:58, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Copyedit request
Hello, I believe we haven't met before. I'm Nishkid64. I saw you helped out my friend Blnguyen on VNQDD and was wondering if you could copyedit an article I currrently have at FAC, 1965–1966 Central African Republic coup d'etat. Any help is greatly appreciated. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 03:10, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
- Take your time. I really appreciate your help. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 04:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Update
I responded to your comment at T:TDYK regarding my nom of To the Stars (novel). Cheers, Cirt (talk) 22:41, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually if you could add a response comment and the "verified" symbol that would be helpful. Thanks, Cirt (talk) 13:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you so much, I added the cite to the article. Cirt (talk) 18:28, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Crown Fountain PR
Thanks for your review. The remaining concerns are not actionable in the sense that you wer vague and did not give examples of certain remaining complaints. Feel free to comment further as we prepare this article for WP:CHIFTD.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 23:49, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Page move fix
Hey Ruhrfisch, I have a quick admin task I was hoping you could do. The page U.S. Customhouse (New Orleans) was redirected to U.S. Custom House (New Orleans) instead of being moved there. The new title is the correct name. Can you revert the redirect and do a proper page move? Thanks. VerruckteDan (talk) 13:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- As always, thanks for your help. VerruckteDan (talk) 00:08, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Grawp vandalism
The vandalism was in a template that was transcluded on the pages.[1] --Snigbrook (talk) 18:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Leonard Harrison State Park
I am sure you noticed the changes to the camping info at Leonard Harrison. I looked at the PA DCNR website to confirm it and I can't. I was hoping you could use your persuasive and official sounding letter style to ask the park if indeed these improvements have been made. Dincher (talk) 22:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for finding the info. I found tons of pics of Raccoon Creek and Oil Creek. They are both on the 20 must see list. I will load them to commons now. Dincher (talk) 01:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Millersburg Ferry
My trip around the municipalities of Pennsylvania has finally lead me to page page that I am amazed hasn't been created until tonight. I am currently working on Millersburg Ferry. (I almost created the National Apple Musuem, it's in Biglerville.) Something in my mind tells me that you might have pics of it. I might be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if you have some. Anyway, I am off to work on it some more. There is a long PDF file with lots of info. I am sure I'll get a DYK out of it. Dincher (talk) 00:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I rode it once a long, long time ago when I was really young. I have driven past it so many times I don't even notice it anymore. Next time I am going to notice it, might even stop. Thanks for the hook idea. I am pretty much done with it. Will be off wiki soon, but I will be on it alot tomorrow. I am "working" all day. Have a good one! I'll look at Forksville Bridge now and later. Dincher (talk) 01:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Triple DYK
--BorgQueen (talk) 06:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Forksville Covered Bridge
I am reviewing the Forksville Covered Bridge right now and I have found only one problem so far and it isn't a big deal. The reference in the construction and description section are numbered 6, 5 instead of 5, 6 in the at the end of, (The gable roof is sheet metal). Dincher (talk) 13:22, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe say that T. Corbin Lews is from Hillsgrove Township instead of just Hillsgrove. Dincher (talk) 13:26, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WV State Parks list
Thank you for the comments. They are thoughtful and useful. And thanks for moving the semi-automated comments. I'm afraid I didn't completely understand the instructions. I will respond to your comments by both making changes and in writing on the PR page. Any additional comments you may have will be most welcome. WVhybrid (talk) 03:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
