    [edit] User:ACBest/Credit

Further to our previous discussion of this template, I've updated it to improve the formatting to allow the two templates to be merged into one. To use it type {{subst:User:ACBest/Credit}} rather than {{User:ACBest/Credit}} which won't substitute the template as is required.

This new format also ensures that the correct year is included in the attribution as it will include the date when the template is added to an uploaded image.

I hope this provides a better solution which satisfies both our concerns. If you have any comments then please let me know. Regards. Adambro (talk) 16:06, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] Hull Trains

The Hull Trains article isn't "under attack". There is a content dispute between a number of editors as to whether a certain element of the article should be present or not, removing the information about the Class 86 is not vandalism. I'd note that continuously reverting a change you disagree with, as you have been doing, is unhelpful and you could find yourself blocked and the page fully protected. You should discuss this with other editors on the talk page to try to determine consensus as to the desired content of the article. It would be inappropriate to semi-protect this page to prevent the IP from changing it when you're causing as much disruption as that editor, if anything full protection would be the next stage if the edit waring doesn't stop. Please discuss this at Talk:Hull_Trains#Class_86. Regards. Adambro (talk) 20:46, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE TO LOCK AN ARTICLE (Hull train) one? LOTRrules (talk) 23:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] 12

Are you REALLY 12 or worked with Wikipedia for 12 years? Anyways thanks for all the contribs... LOTRrules (talk) 23:24, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

So you must be an Aspie? I mean you have a VERY fertile interest in trains and hulls and whatnot? If you are...well depending on the response I get...I'll let you in on something...or not...or maybe I will...or not...okay, truth will out...I'm an Aspie! I also have interests in computers...not so much the internet...anyways how long have you been editing for? LOTRrules (talk) 19:44, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
An Aspie is someone who has Asperger Syndrome, its when people are VERY VERY MILDY autisitc and are obsessive with little details in their favourite hobby. It can be anything e.g. computers. Bill Gates was predicted to be one because he liked computers a lot and the co-founder of Apple: Steve Wozniak (come on you have got to love his name), also Einstein, Newton and loads of others are predicted to have it or have it. I'm one because I like computers (leet geek here), psychology and human behaviour (I know ironic considering I'm autistic) but anyway how come you don't know this? Its been on wikipedia for ages...and is one COOOOOOOOL syndrome - I didn't like it at first but ah well...can't blame myself for being me! I thought you were one because you seem to like (hull) trains a lot... LOTRrules (talk) 22:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] Warning

I note you continue to revert the disputed temporary fleet on Hull Trains despite my previous warnings about this. Please engage in constructive discussion of this issue on the article talk page rather than simply reverting the change that you don't agree with. If you don't do this then you might be blocked for disruption. Adambro (talk) 20:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your request for adminship was unsuccessful

Unfortunately it is my duty to inform you that your second request for adminship was closed early per WP:SNOW. I still believe you are on the right track, however, continue with your editing as you are now and take time to reflect on the reasons why people opposed you. If you can remedy that and prove that you are able to perform with administrative duties, then your next RFA is likely to pass. Regards, Rudget. 16:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Livery-popup-trainstation.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Livery-popup-trainstation.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:51, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] 19andy91

Good afternoon ACbest. Some comments: Firstly, my talk page is MY talk page, I can therefore delete content which I do not deem appropriate. Secondly, If you continue to put the comment back, I will revert it as many times as possible without breaking the 3-revert-rule. Yours Angrily Britishrailclass91 (talk) 13:14, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Livery-popup-trainstation.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Livery-popup-trainstation.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 13:57, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] Angry

Do not pretend that you have not been going round changing images that I have put on the TOC infoboxes to the previous image. I therefore have this to say to you: You are a too-big for your boots user who thinks that he is in charge. do not do this again as many images changed by me were for the better. Britishrailclass91 (talk) 15:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] Apologies

For my hasty comments in response to the image revertion. Britishrailclass91 (talk) 20:10, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

    [edit] Commons

Please upload any future freely licensed images to Wikimedia Commons. Not doing so is pointless. All it achieves is the creation of more work for someone to transfer them. Adambro (talk) 15:15, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Aero Promotion.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aero Promotion.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

    • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
    • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --23:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
