The New York Yankees' 2003 season was the 101st season for the Yankees. The team finished with a record of 101-61 finishing 6 games ahead of the Boston Red Sox. New York was managed by Joe Torre. The Yankees played at Yankee Stadium. In the playoffs, they got to the World Series before losing in a dramatic 6 game series to the Florida Marlins.

  • July 22, 2003: Jesse Orosco was sent to the New York Yankees by the San Diego Padres as part of a conditional deal.
  • July 29, 2003: Raul Mondesi was traded by the New York Yankees with cash to the Arizona Diamondbacks for David Dellucci, Bret Prinz, and John Prowl (minors). [1]
  • August 31, 2003: Jesse Orosco was traded by the New York Yankees to the Minnesota Twins for a player to be named later. The Minnesota Twins sent Juan Padilla (September 2, 2003) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.
