York Regional Road 24

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

York Regional Road 24, or formerly Highway 50, more commonly referred to as Highway 50 or Peel Regional Road 50, is a shared regional road between Peel Region and York Region. York Regional Road 24 begins at Steeles Avenue and runs to Peel Regional Road 14, where the road steered towards Peel Region. After that point, the road is laying completely in Peel Region.

South of Steeles Avenue, York Regional Road 24 continues into Toronto as Albion Road.

[edit] A shared Regional Road

York Regional Road 24 is shared with the York Region Government as Peel Regional Road 50 (from Steeles Avenue to Mayfield Road).

Most people referred to the portion of Albion Road north of Steeles Avenue as Peel Regional Road 50. Actually, the portion of Peel Regional Road 50 from Steeles Avenue to Mayfield Road lays in York Region geographically. And therefore, the York Region government assigned this road as York Regional Road 24, however, no one seemed to notice.
