[edit] Christmas
WRHS announced its intention to become the earliest station to change over to Christmas music in 2007 (as "Jack Frost"), surpassing 2006's first Christmas station, KOSY-FM in Salt Lake City, which switched on October 30, 2006. The station launched its Christmas format on the morning of October 25, 2007. The move is only temporary as they plan on changing back to their normal Jack FM format on January 7, 2008. They have already been beaten by commercial radio station WTZN-FM in Pittsburgh, who changed from October 1 to October 5 of 2007, and by WNOU (now WEXM) in Indianapolis, who began stunting on Monday, October 8, through the rest of the holiday season. However WRHS-FM is the earliest non-commercial or educational radio station to make the switch to holiday music. They are also the earliest and latest to switch in the Chicago, Illinois market. They will play holiday music from Thursday, September 25, 2008 to Thursday, January 8, 2009.
