[edit] Seeking info on 1932 Vilnius
Dear Project editors, I'm hoping someone here might help me find this information:
- The "Municipal Laboratory of Natural History" in Wilno, 1932, was apparently known as "
Dmuchowski'sDmochowski's Laboratory." A search of that surname in the Polish and Lithuanian Wikipedias yieldsnothing pertinentpossibilities I'm unable to evaluate. Where might I confirm this name and perhaps learn something about the eponymous individual?
I had posted this yesterday on the Vilnius discussion page but then removed it as probably too obscure a detail to be relevant to the page development, yet too specialized for the Humanities reference desk. -- Thanks, Deborahjay (talk) 07:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Article watchlist
Hello, I just created a dump of 4000 articles from Category:Lithuania and all the subcategories. The list is as complete and as accurate as the category. That means that all the changes to these articles will show up here. Please let me know if you have comments. Renata (talk) 06:45, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Settlement template default map
It seems that, Image:LietuvaMiestams.png is rather bad image for this template, as for example in Stakliškės is not shown properly on the map, and Dusetos, despite that it does seem show right, coordinates differ slightly from an article in Lithuanian wikipedia. The official map of Lithuania, as far I can remember was rather ugly, but I did at least show location properly. Any ideas? Maybe there's is a possibility to redraw the default image and make it at least look better (it is a bit distorted and looks different than current map, but at least pushpin with right coordinates is right). We should find some solution, because it is not good to distort coordinates or show the wrong location on the map.--Lokyz (talk) 10:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Ethnographic Lithuania
Someone has put this new article up for WP:DYK and I'd just like to be sure there are going to be no objections to its content before it is featured, so could someone have a look at it please and comment on the article's talk page? Gatoclass (talk) 07:02, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I left comments on article's and DYK's talk pages. In short, article in current form is OR. Cheers, M.K. (talk) 08:15, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hoax?
Oshmyan seems to be nonsence, if one'd follow given coordinates it is former Soviet Military training ground, Named by nearby Rūdininkai, and by any means not Oshmyan.--Lokyz (talk) 15:24, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not hoax, just confused names. Should be moved to correct name and that's all. See User_talk:Timvasquez#Re_Oshmyan. Renata (talk) 15:28, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, there are several photographs on the Google maps, and it seems like it is a stripe of sand[1], not an airport. Judging by the bombs found there it seems it was a place where bombers were trained [2]. And it might be mistake by American intelligence, since in the aerial photographs it sure does look like an airport.-Lokyz (talk) 15:39, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Baltic and/or Lithuanian paganism template?
Maybe it would be god to create one. The topics are scattered, although the concept is notable. Maybe it would encourage development of some topics.--Lokyz (talk) 01:01, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- What do you have in mind? What kind of template? Not sure I fully undesrtand... Renata (talk) 03:06, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, an infobox similar to this {{Template:Hinduism}}.--Lokyz (talk) 03:13, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Go ahead, I'd like to see what you can come up with. Renata (talk) 23:22, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- That depends, on what subject to choose - Baltic religions (mythology) would get a rather big template, (Lithuanians, Latvians, Prussians and their mythologies, although I do know much more about Lithuanian mythology. As of "word" paganism, after some thought I think it is not the best suitable word for such undertaking:)--Lokyz (talk) 09:15, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox redesign
Hello, I redesigned infobox for municipalities. See {{Infobox savivaldybe/temp}} and first implementation at Marijampolė municipality. It uses almost the same info as the old infobox, but the format is based on {{infobox settlement}}. Please comment. Note that political information in most municipality articles is outdated. Also {{infobox apskritis}} will need a redesign. Renata (talk) 08:51, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- Scratch the above. It seems the smartest thing to do is to use {{infobox settlement}}. Any volunteers to migrate municipality articles to this new infobox? Renata (talk) 16:23, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Should we merge city municipality articles with cities? Renata (talk) 06:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Lithuania schools stub
Since there is a new stub, maybe we should pick a nice icon for it?--Lokyz (talk) 18:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Listing
I just thinking is it worth to list DYKs GAs FAs as such here? Perhaps it is possible that WP:LITH template would recognize and DYK's like it lists GAs , FAs articles. M.K. (talk) 20:57, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
