[edit] Infobox
- See also: Category:Video game infobox templates
Infobox VG is used by consensus in articles on games that have been or will be released for single or multiple platforms. The image should be game box art and no other non-free (fair use) images should be present.
For console games, the fields engine, media, input, and requirements should generally be omitted. For games with a computer version, it is preferable to populate input, engine, and requirements. Never list a computer game as a "PC" game—list the applicable operating systems instead.
For release dates, use {{vgrelease}}, which creates superscript abbreviations such as:
JP 14 June 2008
NA 14 June 2008
PAL 14 June 2008
EU 14 June 2008
AUS 14 June 2008
Other country codes are listed here.
For ratings, use {{vgratings}}, which creates links such as:
CERO: A
ESRB: Everyone
OFLC: G
PEGI: 3+
See also: Infobox discussion, Project template discussion, Template project, Template project discussion, Release dates.
[edit] Video game year
For dates in video-game related articles where the day-of-year is not known, the year should be linked to "YYYY in video gaming". The {{vgy}} template creates this wikilink easily: {{vgy|2007}} will produce 2007.
[edit] Image tags
- {{Non-free game cover}} — Game box art.
- {{Non-free computer icon}} — Computer game icons.
- {{Non-free logo}} — Game logo.
- {{Non-free game screenshot}} — Non-free game screenshots.

[edit] Welcome template
A welcome template can be found at {{Vgproj welcome}} that welcomes new users to our project. Add it to the talk pages of new users who have contributed to video-game related articles, using {{subst:Vgproj welcome}} ~~~~.

Our daughter projects have also created the {{Poke-stub}} (Pokémon), {{FinalFantasy-stub}}, and {{Warcraft-stub}} templates. These will also put articles into the corresponding stub categories.
