Hi, I noticed that you said you were listed at WP:PRV and willing to copy-edit articles. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out ? I have put the Doggystyle article up for FAC and it has been requested that it receives a copy-edit before it can pass as a FA. A partial list of what has to be changed is at the FAC page, but I think the article would need a complete copy-edit to ensure it has good grammer and that the prose flows well. What I have attempted to do is modify the writer's obvious slant with corrections first, and later deletion. This is the people's resource not some biased extremeist site. I was reverting an article because of vandalism and you sent me a message stateing I was doing the vandalism??

I'm guessing this is common when a two or more peole submit the same edit and are using something like huggle?

Yeah, it seems there is a contention issue when two people revert the same article at the same time. Not too much of a bother as long as nothing nasty gets hung on my user name..

Thanks for your input on the 'Lost in a Garden of Clouds' questions. I didn't realise the band's own assessment/recommendations/praise couldn't be counted. Your explanation makes perfect sense and is easy to work with. I'll seek out some other references if possible. [edit] On deletion of Fly Communications article

I'm trying to get the article on Fly Communications published.

I appreciate the idea that Wikipedia is not the place to advertise. However, how does one walk the fine line to report on progress in successful techniques of advertising. I think this kind of progress has important intellectual value, just as the recognition of how our individual tastes for "nostalgia" are cultivated ... yes, it only seems like advertisers use this "nostaglia" theory, but it does reflect something inherent in human nature. Likewise, the firm has successfully combined these two conflicting approaches (direct marketing, which involves a call-to-action, and branding, which involves an emotional connection). And I believe that Fly was one of the first firms to combine these successfully.

Thus, I believe it is worthy of publication.

Regarding, the idea that the article in question is "advertising" something, this is not the case. The article does not "advertise" any product or service, but the article is about the advertising industry and a company that has pioneered a particular approach.

An easy way to demonstrate that this article is NOT advertising is to pretend the article were about a firm that were to pioneer the combination of baking soda (used by bakers) and vinegar (used by salad chefs) to produce a chemical result that could be used with childrens' Science Fair projects illustrating volcanoes and their lava flow. The fact that is has become popular does not diminish the experimentation and success with combining features of separate disciplines (bakers vs. salad chefs).

Considering that the article is not intended to advertise, what kind of improvements do you suggest to make it suitable? Clearly, Wikipedia has articles on companies and other companies in the advertising industry ... maybe a little explanation of improvement would help me make the article suitable to Wikipedia standards.

You deleted Nova Development, with no opportunity for a fair hearing.

Another party had moved for deletion --on an earlier ocassion.

I performed exhaustive effort in composing the article, from varied resources. That party had re-instated my article.

Yet, you have executed a speedy delete on the article. This is an abuse of power, and it is an apparent circumnaventing of the standard rules for deletion.

The WikiProject Greater Manchester Newsletter Issue VIII - June 2008 May issue Got any suggestions? — Add them here Project News No FA news this month... but lots of GA! Old Trafford, Murrays' Mills and 1990 Strangeways Prison riot all passed GAC last month! In previous newsletters, the issue of WP:GM's lack of GAs has been raised numerously, so a large 'well done' to all those who contributed, be it little or large! Also, Milnrow and City of Salford have been nominated at WP:GAC. Feel free to join in with their discussions here and here respectively. To 'obtain GA status for a third of Greater Manchester's Metropolitan Boroughs' is one of WP:GM's short-term aims, let's hope the City of Salford won't be the last borough with this status. In other news, the Grade II* listed buildings in Greater Manchester list has been coming along nicely and may even soon reach FLC! Please help out where you can. Well done to Mike Peel for getting Platt Fields Park onto the DYK! WikiProject Greater Manchester is still the leading local British WikiProject! As far as featured content goes, we have a lead of 8 on London! Although taking the lead in FAs, WP:GM is still flagging a little in GAs and falls behind London by 3.
