Taekwondo competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing will be held from August 20 to August 23. The tournaments will be held at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium.

8 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:
- -58kg Men
- 59-68kg Men
- 69-80kg Men
- +80kg Men
- -49kg Women
- 50-57kg Women
- 58-67kg Women
- +67kg Women
[edit] Competition Format
The taekwondo competition at the Olympic Games consists of a single elimination tournament. The two losers of the semifinal bouts will both be awarded bronze medals. [1]

Each NOC can enter 2 men and 2 women athletes, but only 1 per weight class. The places will be allocated as follows:
