Smash Hits Radio! is a UK based digital radio station owned and operated by Bauer Radio based in London. It is available throughout the UK on Freeview channel 712 and Sky channel 0171, and on DAB in some areas. The format is loosely based on the now defunct Smash Hits Magazine. The station opened in 2002 and continues to play a 'non-stop' music format without presenters or DJs, with only one minute of adverts every half an hour.
In 2007, Smash Hits Radio was removed from DAB radio in several areas during the introduction of Traffic Radio, and it is rumoured to be removed from all DAB multiplexes in 2008. However, it will still be available through Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media and online[citation needed].
