Madison attended Florida A&M High School and won varsity letters in football, basketball, track, and baseball. He played college football at the University of Louisville.
During his college career at Louisville from 1993 thru 1996 he established several records. Madison holds the career Pass Break Ups or Pass Defends record with 44 during his tenure. He set the school record for the most in a single season in 1995 with 13 and again in 1996 with 16 but would later be broken in 2000. Madison also set the record for most career interceptions while at the school and tied for second most in a season. Those records have since been beaten.[1]
