Region Avia Airlines

Region-Avia is an airline based in Moscow, Russia. It operates regional passenger services.

Region Avia was registered in Moscow in 2005. It is 52% owned by Russian citizens, but the details of its ownership structure are not known.[1]

It plans to acquire a fleet of up to 50 foreign-made aircraft (either ATR 42, ATR 72 or Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft) by 2012 and operate them on regional routes of 1500 km or less from Bykovo Airport, Moscow.[2][3] With investment of about $65 million planned, the airline hopes to carry 3 million passengers a year by 2010-2012. The main investor ($50 million) is the Norum company.[1]

Region-Avia makes regular flights between Yekaterinburg and Magnitogorsk, Ufa and Nyagan in partnership with Aviaprad.[1]
